No. Gonzaga doesn’t get treated like a mid major by the media, so a Gonzaga win doesn’t really stick it to the P5. Sure, the B12 would get fewer Benjamins to throw around, but hardly enough of a difference to be felt by the individual schools.

Gonzaga fans are assholes and we should be grateful the Zags lost.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

If I''m reading things correctly, I was in the 96th percentile before the title game. Baylor's win dropped me to 90th percentile - ranked around 1.4 millionth. So, not as good.

BYU finishes the season with a kenpom rating of #20, down from #13 in the prior year.

I think we should also note that kenpom started BYU off this year at around #105, or thereabouts. And if I understand it right, his system is built with the assumption that the starting points are predictive of the end of of the season. And while they adjust as the season progresses, his algorithms seem to change ratings much slower than others like Sagarin. That's why for most of the season kenpom had BYU ranked significantly below all the others. It was because he had BYU started off so low and his system takes longer for current season data to change the system's original assumptions.

The underlying assumption in lay man's terms is your team will suck if you lost a lot of talent from last year and we don't care about.what you replaced them with until they prove it over almost thr entire season. For teams that don't have lots of turnover year to year it's more accurate. Also, it does account for teams like Duke and Kentucky by giving credit for new 5* talent coming in, but not for the normal new talent or transfers a team like BYU brings in.

So yeah, at least based on Ken's formula and algorithms, BYU way overperformed this year.
