Does anyone outside of Utah use the term "lurp?" I've never heard it anywhere else.

And the average cougarboard fan thinks he's a terrible coach because he wears funny glasses and is short.
I don't know whether Nashif was helping on the D initially or not, but from 08 until, I think, 2010, it was John Wardenburg who was the assistant responsible for the D. Since he has moved on, the D has not been the same.

It is amazing the difference at the college level it makes to have one good defender who can effectively neutralize one player. Since Chuckie Abouo left BYU has not had a lockdown defender.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Goat took the words out of my mouth. "The" Jimmer year featured Abouo and KC on the wings. They both were fantastic at closing out, without getting blown by, and matching up with bigger players in the block. The reality is BYU was fortunate to have a few very good defensive players for 6-7 years. Now they are back to about average (by BYU standards). Sometimes it is effort (see: UVU) but generally it is about lateral quickness. Unfortunately, that isn't an easy fix.

Probably not. That body type only exists when you have a ton of mormons.

Outside of Utah, one would call the person a Lurch.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I first heard the term in 1983 in Los Angeles when it was uttered by one of my roommates, decidedly not LDS and non-Utahan, to describe another one of our roommates, a lazy sack of stuff who refused to do anything around the apartment but who was also not LDS and not from Utah. I recall because the word was used to replace a syllable of the lazy guys last name (although I am pretty sure we spelled it 'lerp'). For the rest fo the semester we all referred to him by the reformed last name. SO, at least in 1983, it was being used by non-LDS and non-Utahans.
                PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Gonzaga still has games with Arizona, Washington, and Tennessee. SMC has a game at Stanford. Would be nice for all of us if they won these games.
Gonzaga still undefeated with wins over SDSU, Iowa State, and @Florida. SMC still undefeated winning big @Stanford yesterday. BYU not undefeated

USC is better than Stanford this year. Go Cougars!

                    • Just me whining again. Is it a coincidence Isaac Neilson turned into a beast after leaving BYU? I heard a lot of talk about the new trainer for BYU BB and how hard he worked the players. Did Haws and Shaw skip the workouts? Are they doing a chick workout? ie some cardio and maybe some five lb dumbell tricep extensions, maybe some good mornings with 10 lbs on their back and their yoga pants butt high up in the air. Or are they actually lifting weights?

                      • There were a lot of rumors around Isaac Neilson about how he wasn't very coachable during his time at the Y. The coaches wanted him to bulk up and learn how to bang around inside and he was more interested in shooting threes and playing more like a SF. How true this is, obviously I can't verify, but perhaps he got a wakeup call and turned a new leaf at UVU and listened this time when Pope told him the same things. Again, I don't know if that's really what happened but it seems plausible.

Sometimes guys just possess that inner drive to take their game to the next level. Ike Austin was going to make his way to the NBA regardless of his coaching.

You are, no doubt confusing rebounding machine, 4-5 game per year difference maker, and possessor of the largest back boil or zit (there has been much debate), Nate Austin with Isaac Nielson. But to address your original question, I think both Haws and Shaw need to become swollmates and to be a little more dedicated to protein, bruh.
