BYU accounting majors get laid, it's the USU ones that don't...this the reason he transferred.

Accounting major, eh? Okay, you win.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostDavis scored 9 ppg at USU as a sophomore before he transferred to BYU. He is an accounting major. He scores in the post and gets blanked between the sheets!
I would not say a plethora, and much like El Guapo I know what the word means, but certainly I think BYU is looking at having 4 kids to play the 4 and 5 who are all average at worst and I think both Kaufusi and Davis will be above average college players next year.

Real smart player with limited athletic ability who can score pretty well as a 4 with a decent inside and outside game. I don't think he can shoot the 3 like Nate could by the time Nate was a JR, but I understand Kyle is consistent out to 15 feet and can score with his back to the basket as well.
I think he chose to transfer because he wanted a piece of that vaunted BYU accounting program. So that should tell you all you need to know about him. Which is if he is good and the key player to a final 4 team, he is not likely tapping some haughty on the side and will disrupt our dreams. Nobody who studies accounting gets laid before they are 30.

I think I have read it from some folks who claim to have seen practices this year. The word they claim to be common knowledge is that Davis is clearly the best big on the team. Pretty damn high praise if you ask me!Originally posted by jay santos View PostWho is saying Kyle Davis will start over Aytes and why? I have no opinion or knowledge to form an opinion, just curious.

Kaufusi, Austin and Davis might do some things well, but there is still a severe lack of low post scoring. If Aytes can't score in the post, he was never really going to be a big deal regardless of when he played.

I know nothing about Kyle Davis. What BYU player of the past would you compare him to so I can get an idea of how good he is?Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostWhen I look at the roster and the future of BYU it seems that Jamal Aytes went from being the fellow we panted over when he first announced his transfer to the kid I think might get lost.
When he chose to transfer there was nothing in his way from being a go to kid for BYU once he became eligible. Not that he was good, but that as much of this year demonstrated we were severely undermanned in the post at both the 4 and 5. Shortly thereafter, Kyle Davis decides he wants to finish out his two years under the esteemed tutelage of Dave Rose and Mark Pope, something I can understand coming from Logan as the strange thing is kids want to play in the NCAA tourney. Now it appears that most think Kyle will be the starter for the next two years at the 4. Then Corbin Kaufusi shows up as an RM whose physical growth matched his spiritual growth for the past two years. Football ain't meant for 6'11" fellows so Corbin took his wares to the hardwood and about now that is looking like a really, really good career move. To further this sudden change of Jamaal's luck, Nate the Great Austin is likely to play next year and he is likely to get some minutes at the 4 along with backing up Kaufusi at the 5 - especially if Kaufusi develops any semblance of a consistent offensive game. These developments along with the return of Mika after next year has me wondering if Jamal is wondering what his future is as a Cougar.
If he would have Chosen the Right as a HS senior and come straight to BYU, I wonder how much things would have changed for him.
