The WCC is on the up & up and you guys are a part of a Conference on an exponential rise. How can't you see that? St Mary's was a bottom dweller joke just 5 yrs ago and becoming a 25 win team every year and making post-season each yr, even Sweet 16 just 2 yrs ago, Gonzaga is self-explanatory with five Sweet 16's in 12 yrs and NCAA appearances every season...LMU & Santa Clara both signed 3 & 4 -star recruits recently and are improving as well...fast forward a few years and WCC will be on par w/any Conference in the West. Its happening before our eyes...

you need to give us time. None of us are going to warm to this conference while the Big 12 is still on our minds. The WCC is a better conference than the MWC in terms of TV exposure. Nobody will agrue with you on this point that you constantly harp on. We are not disappointed in the WCC television opportunities. We hated the MTN television deal. That deal is a big part of the reason we are delusionally independent right now in football. However, we are disappointed in the conference competition opotunities (excluding Gonzaga and St Marys).

You have to realize that we all still vividly remember the dream of playing Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State etc every single year. We just woke up from that wet dream, changed the sheets and found out that we play San Francisco, San Diego, Pepperdine, Santa Clara instead. Looking at the schedule and seeing a decent Gonzaga and St. Marys on it does not overcome the empty feeling that we all share. Hell, this dream was killed only 3-4 months ago.

Between that and games not in HD, I can't get myself to watch, even if there's nothing left on my DVR. But college Bball is substandard anyway. I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Lastly, the WCC has more games on ESPN this season than the Pac-12 & MWC COMBINED -- 'nuff said.

Congrats on winning the more games on ESPN title. I'll take the Pac-12 and MWC superior conference quality and superior tournament performance over the most games on ESPN title. Congrats on being able to provide cheap late night content for ESPN.

#10 Conference rating for the WCC really isn't as bad as you're making it out to be either...it could be worse, especially when two the teams in WCC are ranked in the Top-30 RPI(SMC & GU). To be honest, if you were to subtract the bottom-3 teams, it'd improve by leaps and bounds. Sure, there are a few really poor teams, yet the Conference as a whole is becoming more consistent and improving each year, something to be excited about. The recruiting rankings are going up every year as well. Teams like Santa Clara, LMU, et al are stealing kids away from Pac-12 schools and other big teams. Of course Gonzaga, St Mary's, BYU are in the National Spotlight and the '3-headed' monster will lead to good things for all teams within this Conference. Its on its way UP. No reason for the negativity.

Btw, the WCC might be a 3-bid conference again, which is VERY respectable.

This mantra towards me is really getting old and unnecessary, imo.

Its becoming a borderline gang-mentality to jump on me for posts/threads, yet if really take a moment to examine my posts, I think you may change your mind instead of just reading other posters comments -- have you noticed I'm always responding to direct statements, question, and/or comments made towards me. Isn't that the intent of a discussion forum? I am not being irrational, trolling, or making unsound arguments, I understand the WCC/GU facts may be annoying to BYU fans, yet my topics are relevant, factual, and positive. If anything, I spend a great deal of time attempting to improve the spirits around here considering so many BYU fans are depressed or upset with their Conference affiliation and my intent is to point out its not nearly as bad as they are perceiving it to be. This is becoming a very competitive conference, has one of the best ESPN contracts in the Country of ANY conference, and is benefiting from Gonzaga's 13 year run, St Mary's emergence, and BYU's addition. That is all -- are my contributions or questions really that bad, especially when I'm posting under threads specifically made for such banter/discussion?

OK, I wouldn't typically post this type of thread in your bball board, yet considering BYU doesn't play a game until Saturday and this game is important to the entire conference & could determine BYU's run to the WCC Championship, I thought it may be relevant...

So, who do the Coug fans think will win this rivalry game on Thurs night? Just curious...or should I ask, who would you like to see win?

Guys, just google WCC & ESPN and it mentions over & over how the Conference has the most premier basketball deal of any mid-major-esque Conference and one of the best in the country. This isn't about creating a debate, as BYU is a beneficiary of this new development.

More accurately, BYU is the REASON for this new development. This new premier basketball deal you're so proud of only came about because BYU joined the conference.
