Damarcus Harrison's (2011) committment to BYU was huge. Many of you are also following the prodigiously talented LDS basketball player from Chicago named Jabari Parker who will be in the class of 2013 and is LDS. Coming on the heals of the 2010 Kyle Collinsworth and the 2009 Tyler Haws, these kids look amazing. The great thing about these kids is that they are talented players who are LDS and therefore BYU is in the game when they wouldn't otherwise be based on level of program.
In the class of 2012 BYU is in the race for top non-member Rosco Allen at Bishop Gorman High. Allen is a Lee Cummard clone but we all know how this goes. These kids are interested in BYU until the heat starts to rise in recruiting. Allen has added a slashing component to his sweet shooting skills and the programs are starting to show up. Now that Allen has offers from some top Pac-10 teams as well as UNLV, I expect his interest in BYU will wane. Despite that, I think BYU is still in the hunt for a wing who could find himself in the ESPN top 100 and who wouldn't shy away from BYU when the big names come around.
Jordan Chatman has quietly become BYU's big target for 2012. IMO, Chatman has replaced Rosco Allen as the #1 target for the Cougs. He is a smooth 6'4" combo guard that has a very savvy and well developed game, long arms, and good skills. Below are a few articles on him:

Chatman has been offered by BYU and will be an excellent recruit. He is currently not as well ranked as Allen but that is more about exposure than anything skill based. Chatman played on a lesser team as a young player and didn't spend a lot of time marketing his skills. He recently changed schools to a basketball power in his area and will have increased exposure going forward. I expect the buzz regarding Jordan to rise and his ESPN score of 92 to become a 95 by the end of his career. He isn't the elite athlete Harrison is but his skill level is very high and he is much longer than his height would suggest. In other words, I think we have another mormon in the ESPN Top 100 coming down the pipe.
