  • 2015 recruit Zach Seljaas hit 8 threes today as his team the 16U Utah Prospects made the final four of the fab48 AAU tourney. They ran out of gas in the final four but looked really good. Jesse Wade from Davis and Brock Miller also had huge tourneys.

        • He just announced it himself on Twitter. Some kids hate to win.

I agree that this is a huge pickup for Larry K.

Less pressure. He can go there and be special and everyone will love him for it. Or he could bust and nobody would blame his talent but the coaching and program.

True. Like Loveridge last year, he really didn't have a great year but everyone thinks he is a God.

              • I know we can't get every kid in state, but it is disappointing to lose out on him and Loveridge, especially when they play the same position, which is a need for BYU.

Yup. I was going to mention him. You would never know the kid shot less than 40% if you talked to any Utes. I read he's lost 25 pounds now since his dad was diagnosed with diabetes. I guess the plan was to move him out more onto the perimeter. Not sure that is a good move since he's not a good shooter and his ability to get to the line and grab boards. It will be interesting to see him next to Chapman who I guess will play a stretch 4. But they need him down low. Kind of a head scratching pick by Chapman stylistically. I agree that he was nuts to pass up Arizona.

Yeah, if my kid had an offer to Arizona, he's going to Arizona.

I just don't get Utah's draw. It makes no sense to me.

                    • Utah is better off playing Chapman who is barely 190 pounds as a wing and Loveridge at the 4. Loveridge has a decent inside game and rebounds well. But he is not a wing.

Really good get for the Utes. I'm honestly surprised BYU made the top three. I'm sure Dalton Nixon put pressure on him. The Andrus offer now makes more sense. CJ, do you are anyone else on here know who wants Andrus besides BYU?
That Selijaas kid is friends with my nephew. I'm going to ask him if he knows anything.

Do we even know Krysco's style yet? I assume the slow it down, grind it out style of the last two years has been a function of trying to win with virtually no talent. If that is really what Krysco likes to coach then these recruiting wins will be short lived.

Same could be said comparing BYU to Arizona.

This. Defensively, I think you see what you are going to get, but offensively, i think that you cannot look at the last 2 years and draw any real conclusions.
