It is depressingly hilarious that both Trump and his press secretary are now running with the 'correcting Biden's lawfare' with this pardon. Do his people even fact check before they blindly agree with whatever bullshit he comes up with?

There may be a question as to whether the Laws of War apply outside of declared wars. I'm not saying this makes it better, but it may impact how this issue is reviewed.

I have that same question. I know I have different rules of engagement on a domestic mission than I do in actual combat (war). When I was reading an article a day or two ago and they were citing the Geneva Conventions I thought to myself, "I don't think they apply."

If the laws of war don’t apply, then normal maritime laws would, making the original strike illegal.
