  • Mitt Romney post election thread.

That's right, I'm starting another thread!

Where does Mitt go from here? I would really like to see him become a voice for the moderate wing of the GOP, much like Palin has been for the far right dingbats. Become a regular on Fox News, start pushing his economic vision without all the social issue baggage. I don't think it will happen, he doesn't need the money or the spotlight, but I think it would be great if he did. Someone needs to step up and pull the party back from it's social extremist lean, why not Mitt?

Where would you like to see Mitt go from here, or what direction do you think he'll actually go?

I like Mitt more than the Republican party- that's for sure. I hope he grows to a ripe, healthy old age with his fortune, family, beautiful wife, and as much of his hair intact as possible for as long as possible- out of the spotlight and into the Eternities like Neil Armstrong.

Or maybe he'll be busted for steroid use like Lance Armstrong.

          I like it!

Do the brethren go for it? Do they dare put someone in that office they can't make dance like a puppet?

Within 6 months: General Authority or at least Area Authority. Within one year, President of BYU. Maximus nailed it.

He is overdue, no doubt. But I think the Brethren are aware that it would be unseemly to move faster than that, given that the move would seem to have partisan overtones.

I'll go on record as saying I really, really hope this doesn't happen. But I'm a pessimist.

I don't see it. Mitt isn't a talking head. I don't even see him making much of the lecture circuit. The guy will want to be doing something productive.

Yeah, I think Mitt is pretty much done and I'm fine with that. I think he wants to be done as well. I don't blame him.

Mitt Romney at the Pacqiuao fight. This still is of him as pacqiuao is knocked out.

Every time I see one of these random Romney pictures I grimace and think what a great president he would have been.

I wonder if Mitt is now realizing the bullet he dodged. He can now live it up without worry over public perceptions. I can't imagine Obama attending a boxing match.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
