Got it cut this morning. The breeze was actually cool, and it was cloudy, so it was almost enjoyable to cut it. The mornings are supposed to be great all weekend. I might actually get up at first light tomorrow and take care of a couple of projects I was waiting until October to do.

Austin and Dallas have already had more 100+ degree days than they had all of last year. Those of you coming for the UT game may want to book a stay in a Frigidaire.

Or he finally got bored of the Lone Star State. Lord knows he was parked here all last month.

I know of 4 familes in my ward that have abandoned Texas for the remainder of the Summer. Wife just loaded up the kids in the SUV/Minivan and headed west leaving the husband to stay and work in the heat.

My litmus test for summer heat brutality is when my folks call each summer and try to coax us in to visiting them in St. George so they can see their Texas grandkids. My standard reply is: "Why would I want to go to one of the few places where it's hotter than Texas?" Only problem was this year when they called, St. George had lower temperatures.

I've also been watching the weather a lot lately (my son's new fascination), and the people in Texas and Oklahoma surely have angered whatever God rules over those lands. The weather just looks brutal out there.

I am starting to think it is the same god that rules over the warmer parts of the afterlife and he is just giving us a taste. We are on track to have a warmer than average summer. We'll be heading to the pool this afternoon.

I was just wondering, because I only found out just this week that the "Lee" in my son's Lee Elementary refers to General Robert E.

I don't know who I thought Lee was, but that never in a million years would have occurred to me.
