The fact that he knows he needs to say such a patently absurd thing just because the Big Boss can't handle anything but total obedience is the most obvious marker of this (well, besides his massive flip from believing Trump is Hitler to thinking Trump is God Incarnate).

Ted gets so into "catching" democrats in the tiniest untruths but sees nothing but virtue in Vance, the guy who sells his voice to the highest bidder. He contradicts himself and then lies about his contradictions. He's maybe scarier than Trump in that sense because at least you see EXACTLY what Trump is at all times. I've heard recently that you can see Trump's narcissism from space.
My opinion: of the four President/Vice President candidates, Vance is by far the most politically talented. He also has no moral compass or position that he stands for. He'll do what's expedient for himself and whichever team he is aligned with in the moment, and he'll usually do it pretty effectively. He's already set himself up to be the Republican frontrunner in 2028 no matter what happens this cycle.

Amen brother. Vance 2028 (or sooner, which is even better).

Yes. Exactly my point. He is an empty vessel, filled with whatever will get him where he wants.

No wonder Ted is so excited about his presidency lol.

JD's clearly not an empty vessel. He went through too much to get where he is. However, he's is a politician and in that way no different from most other politicians.

Nah, he's different that "most" politicians. How else to you explain the switch from Trump is Hitler to Trump is God? Trump didn't change.

I agree that politicians are all about themselves. But JD does not care about hiding the fact that he is nakedly interested in power, the same as Trump.

It's what politicians have been doing for centuries. JD is typical in that way.

                • Please give us all of these past examples where people have had to so completely bend the knee to one individual to retain access to political power.

Here’s two obvious ones: The war mongering Cheneys. Recall what Liz previously thought of Kamala… she lost her re-election in a record loss.

Now Harris is her god so she can feel relevant

                    • What does "going through too much to get where his is," mean?
He fabricated a great deal of his memoir. We've had a lot of politicians who didn't exactly have everything handed to them like some like Trump or Bush or JFK has.

Obama and Clinton didn't come from exalted circumstances. That doesn't make someone immune from having sketchy ethics. These are not normal times. Vance is not your typical VP candidate. He was vetted in part for his willingness to put his adherence and loyalty to Trump over all else.

Trump blame Pence for their falling out and he didn't do the "right thing." He doesn't have to worry about that with Vance. Hell Vance has admitted he has intentionally spread untrue rumors about people fleeing horrific unrest and bloodshed eating household pets without remorse. That's not typical politician stuff.

She has sacrificed her political career for integrity you dummy.

This is too binary. The very nature of politics requires compromises and changes in positions, and over a lifetime one's views evolve in different directions. But Vance's sudden and complete reversal on Trump is very atypical. Given that Vance is a very smart guy with an analytical mind, his explanation for why he so quickly changed his mind on Trump after years of being highly critical is facile.

I tire of the moral pretense. There isn't really a moral option IMO and mostly because of that very specific reason the attacks on Trump don't work. I think Trump is going to win this thing and Democrats & NeverTrumpers are standing with a dumbfounded look saying "How can this be when we told you how bad he was?"

You are correct, I don't like Trump but I dislike Harris as well-I don't see her as a viable alternative.
