From a friend's FaceBook post:
"We gather now because we have won. Not only have we won, but we have now closed our eyes and ears to a large part of the electorate that has elected us, and have chosen ideology over the will of the people or basic economic reality. On this day, we come to proclaim that it was way pre-mature to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises. It was incorrect to think that given absolute power that recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics would be done away with. Change has not come to Washington, we have come to Washington and changed. We come to say that we have seen the enemy and it is us. May God have mercy on our souls."
