My wife is obsessed with pickleball. She was playing it three times a week at the YMCA until they closed. She'll be back at it soon and then that's all I'll hear about for a while.

One of my son's favorite places to hit on P-day when he was in KC.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostYeah, it's the dinking back and forth that kills me. All his videos are dinking back and forth. Uggh.
Now, it may be a super fun sport (and it probably is!), but I already have a similar sport (tennis) that I'm pretty good at and I have no desire to learn some new net/racket sport.
Also, it looks like there is a pickleball restaurant opening in San Antonio this month. Yes. Chicken and Pickleball. Ha.

But, but, ... the name is goofy! And they have a chicken restaurant.Originally posted by Shaka View PostI play pickleball once a week and love it. It's become so popular I can no longer get people to play tennis with me.
Squash is superior to racquetball.

When you get old and your knees hurt and the young bucks kick your ass every set in tennis, then you’ll be ready for pickle ball and all it’s glory!!!!

It doesn't look fun coming from someone who plays tennis 2x per week.

fifyOriginally posted by Clark Addison View PostThere are two sports I have participated in and never lost. One is squash (played maybe 3 times on my mission and once at BYU) and the other is pickleball. Out in Utah last year, I played at the Spanish Fork rec facility (which was very nice!) one beautiful evening. I and a brother in law defeated another team of two BILs. I don't want to brag but I was the only first-time player, yet still carried our team.
I would like to play more but public pickleball courts are very scarce in the area. But mostly I just don't want to ruin my undefeated record.

Seriously, I will at the next opportunity. But I'll call it something manlier. Maybe Blitzkriegball.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostStop being such a gosh darn elitist and try it out. It is a blast.

He asked some of our friends to come play pickleball three weeks ago, and I'm thoroughly hooked. We play 3x a week. It's been great to get some exercise during Rona, and it doesn't hurt that it's crazy fun as well.
