If you'll count swimming, I'm in. I haven't run since the 90's."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

if walking counts - I'm in
I may be small, but I'm slow.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Walking counts as slow runningOriginally posted by happyone View Postif walking counts - I'm in
Swimming doesn't count."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Why not try walking? It's good cardio and you can supplement the swimming just to change the pace up a bit."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Looks like we have a quorum. I’ve put together a simple Google spreadsheet. The spreadsheet should be editable to anyone with the link. Click on the link and put your name on the spreadsheet. The competition officially starts on Monday, November 19. Here are a couple ground rules:
- Running (and fast walking) miles are all that we are recording. Enter your miles in to the nearest tenth (e.g. 3.1, 5.0, 26.2, etc.)
- If you walk to warm up or cool down you can count it as long as you can track it accurately ( I personally don’t track this on my Garmin but some might)
- Update the spreadsheet often, or at least weekly. It only takes 30 seconds to enter in a week’s worth of miles. I’ll try and remind everyone but I just want to avoid someone dumping all their miles into the spreadsheet on the last week. This is a friendly competition and it’s more fun when we can track progress at least weekly
- While this is a competition, the real goal is to keep people active during the holidays. I’ve got some prize categories below to try and keep some of the “lower mile” runners interested but feel free to send other ideas.
Competition categories
- Most miles – We might just call this the Nikuman award (Topper’s not around now is he?). It’s his to lose. Hopefully someone will step up and go all aTm on him
- Most consistent – This will be for the person that runs most consistently on a weekly basis. I figure there should be a minimum of 10 miles per week
- Most improved – For the person that adds the most miles from start to finish.
Here's the full url for the Google spreadsheet:

On MondayOriginally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostSo when does this thing get going?
Great suggestions. I don't have an autographed picture of PAC to give out but I think I could get one. What does he charge for an autograph? Also I think we need some prizes. Most consistent autographed picture of PAC, highest mileage nipple bandaids, biggest improvement a pair of those hip calf sleeves.
All my prize suggestions are 100% serious.
I've got a bumper sticker that says "I Love Drilling" that can go to the most miles for the person from a state with a shale gas play in it."Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
