I think Mrs SMR made a meal for me on time once. It was awesome.

Though, I'm not really sure what "on time" actually means. Maybe it hasn't ever happened.

WTF doesn't know how to make themselves a good sandwich? As a "man" no less. Do man-card requirements not include ability to make oneself a killer sandwich anymore? I am so mad at this guy right now!

We have a lot of crossfitters and bikers/ runners in my neighborhood. Not too many overweight people. Then again, I'm on the old end of the spectrum in the neighborhood with about 80% of the grown ups being under 40.

My 10 year old daughter has a best friend that I like a lot, but her absolute best quality is her father, who makes me look like a tremendous father and husband. This is a Catholic family with 7 kids; the oldest is 23 or 24, and my daughter's friend is the youngest. All of their kids are very involved, very active, and generally high achievers (oldest recently graduated from Yale). As a result, the parents always had a lot of activities to attend. several years ago, when the youngest was very young, the dad basically told his wife "I've been doing the dad thing for a long time, and I'm pretty much done with it". Since then, he rarely goes to his kids stuff, or even interacts with them that much. My daughter says that she rarely sees him out of his recliner, except when he is yelling at them to be quiet or go outside. Her friend often tells my daughter how lucky she is to have such a nice and fun father (which is true). This guy once yelled at me by mistake when I was over to pick up my daughter because he thought I was one of his daughters parking in a space on the street he wanted to keep free.

He also yells at his wife a lot. Mostly when he does not get his meals made for him on time. This makes him VERY upset. Last night, my daughter went with her friend and her friend's mother to get a Halloween costume. This took longer than expected, and they didn't get home until 8:30. The mother was talking to the father on the drive home on the cars bluetooth speakerphone. The father started yelling at the wife for not making him dinner. The way he explained it was "Now I'm sitting here eating this shitty sandwich!" Good vocabulary builder for my daughter.

I hope we stay close to this family for years, because he really helps lower the bar for me, much more than my Mormon wife ever could.

I would think that with all the group dating instead of individual dating going on, the pressure to look your best is not that important anymore.

Heck my ex was shocked to see me gain a quick 30 after we got married. Of course she lightened up on me after she noticed all her girlfriends husbands had also gained a quick 30.
