Interesting who was present when revelation was given. There were a few supremacists in the Church that don't think that should of taken place. Said you gave N the priesthood and how bad the N and Jews are. Why doe White Supreamacist hate Jews? Before revelation a few people who did not believe in our revelations anyway would say things. Even on my mission someone asked why we didn't give them than said don't ask God for his racist policy. He didn't think there was any more revelation anyway. They don't believe we have revelation so why should they care. I was two when that glorious day happened so don't know what I was doing. Glad to see Black members help in church things now, A few adopted are in my ward, and I see a few black leaders though in Florida there were not a whole lot of active Black Members. I seen a few in the Temple before.
Places like Brazil, Africa the Caribbean have a good deal. Three Black men have been General Authorities too. Interesting the Apostles there.
Legrand Richards saw Wilford Woodruff who reversed the church do to Polygamy, Delbert E Stapley was in hospital and passed away a few weeks later, Mark E Peterson was in South America but the ones there Marion G Romney if it was not revelation would of said do same thing was stubborn, SWK received revelation even asked many people if they should get Priesthood as apostle. Probably more for him than other people. He gave the it's Gods but received revelation. ETB was glad it came to pass praied it at SWK's funeral, No fan of US Civil Rights movement though, BRM gave Valient talk and mentioned that but went to SWK's office and said it could happen. Many leaders felt at this time it won't happen but prophecied it will.
Other Apostles there I think most never said much about it but were glad it happened. GBH TSM David B Haight and others. kNew it was revelation. Some defended it based on pre existence. In Gods due time the right thing happened though. All apostles and all other General Authorities supported it. What a glorius day. For some Black members the Tribune quotes Darron Smith want the church to do more. What more can they do? I think from Adam to SWK it was the mind and will of the Lord. For those that want to know more I guess they can ask God. Glad to live in day when all Men and Women can receive the Blessings of Priesthood and the Temple.
