  • Things people say Jesus said he may never have said.

Many things are attributed ti him, What would Jesus do to defend any position you take. People also use stories of mortals in comparing the atonement. Father sacrificed son for passengers on train. Quite a few flaws. Brother dies saving siblings in fire than nephews and nieces dance on grave Memorial Day disrespectful. We’re like that when we’re disrespectful for the sacrament. Especially for Mormons story.

Thongs attributed to him, walked with someone there life but footprints his during difficult time. Carried you. I never said it would be easy I only said it would be worth it. Hate the sin love the sinner, he loves us unconditionally. Jesus said love everyone is a primary song. Did he ever say that exact phrase. Love mentioned in scriptures but are those his exact words? The primary song was used by people who were justifying serious sin. If you love me keep my commandments. Perfect love he did say that.

How many phrases are attributed to Jesus he may never had actually said. As for the phrase hate the sinner love the sinner, Joseph Fielding McConkie in book of scriptures between lines said do we excommunicate sin or sinners.

People showing pictures of him in rainbow colors welcoming people. Another instance of making God after your own image. He has many phrases attributed to him wether he said them or not.

Whether or not Jesus said something is always going to be a matter of interpretation, because we're getting it, at best, second-hand. Even the authors of the Gospels were not personal secretaries, trying to copy down everything He said. Whether it's paraphrasing, allegory, metaphor, or an attempt at direct quotation based on memory, the questions are the same: do we trust the source to faithfully represent the meaning behind the words? Is the meaning behind the words consistent with other representations of His teachings? If they are not, is it our understanding of those teachings that is the issue? Has the Spirit confirmed the truthfulness of the principle?

"Jesus said love everyone. Treat them kindly too." I am okay with this paraphrasing of the second commandment to "love your neighbor as yourself." Again, whether he said those specific words or meant what we believe it to mean comes down to whether we trust the scriptural record. If you do, than there is a direct commandment to love your neighbor. There is a direct commandment for us to forgive all men.

As for images of Christ in rainbows, keep in mind that doctrinally, Jesus knows what it feels like to be gay or trans. If we believe that being trans is a disorder, doctrinally, he has suffered that disorder. And he loves them.

Jesus probably didn't say a lot of things attributed to him, but I'm not sure we can judge which ones came from him. However, I'm pretty sure he did not endorse underwear.

Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

That is a heck of a thing for a Mormon to say.

Bruh, I'm living my life based on the assumption he doesn't have an opinion on any kind of underwear!

I wonder if we have a record of everything Jesus said.

Jesus said "I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free."

It would be funny if he did actually say that but it just didn’t make it into the Bible.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. For about 9 years he did. He seems to love us again.

                            What scriptures are you reading??

"And Jesus turned to the multitudes and said, 'Let your hearts be free from worry, and walk in the light of the Father. Seek joy in every moment, find gladness in your fellowship, and let your affection be poured out upon all creation; for in this you shall live abundantly, laugh without fear of the morrow, and love one another as I have loved you.'"
