I have no issue with people who are highly religious, to each their own. Again though, religion should be something people take serious on their own, not have it be forced on them if you will.
While I agree that coercion is not the best for religious practice, I'm not sure that "forced" is the right word in this situation.

Maybe they didn't investigate the school's expectations very thoroughly beforehand, but they apparently selected this private school of their own free will and choice.

It sounds like there are some consequences if she chooses not to attend the objectionable religious meetings. But it is a choice.

It seems like the school is being blamed for your bro not doing due diligence. If it's a religious-based school then they have every right to impose their practices on the student body. If that doesn't work then people can send their kids to public school or pick another private school that meets their needs.

Yall chose private school. You get what you get when you step outside the protections of civic life. Your brother fucked up his due diligence. Good luck to your niece for her parents' negligence.

Its not a 'religious' based school as you put it, that's the thing. Don't have to wear uniforms or anything like that and it is not backed by a church.

With all due respect, you don't know my brother and what he takes into account when it comes to his kid. I understand the concept of private schools can essentially do their own thing, but when he asked around about this school, no one said anything about these required religious courses as it were, being part of the experience or yes he would more than likely not sent her there in the first place.

Maybe it was "God's Plan" - so that your niece would end up appreciating religion - and listen to the missionaries when she encounters them one day.
