Before The Big Lebowski, White Russians were widely considered a woman's drink... sweet and easy. Mojitos are one of the most frou-frou cocktails out there.

As for beginners' beers, I would add two Korean imports to the growing list:

Cass and Hite. Both are light, crisp, and fizzy. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

Fantastic beer. But, like most beers on your list, you'll never find them in Utah, since Utah only allows 3.2 beer on tap.

That only means you haven't found the right beer.

A good rule for the beginner is the clearer the better. Back in the day I tried some dark beers and hated them.

I would also recommend Stella Artois. Light, smooth and satisfying. I don't always drink beer, but when I do I prefer Belgian beers. A couple of others are Leffe and Hoegaarden. If you're going with local beers, go with Wasatch. When I'm Park City, I like going to the Wasatch Brewery. Get the fish and chips.
I was going to recommend Hoegaarden as a potential first beer, or any white or hef beer.

Viking says beer brands and then names styles. So to be true to the title, I'll say:

    1. Russian River
    2. Lagunitas
    3. Unibroue
    4. Goose Island
    5. Chimay
    6. Dogfish
    7. Stone
    8. Bear Republic
    9. Anchor
    10. Pabst

Another good beginners beer would be New Belguim's 1554 black ale, its a pretty balanced beer and was the first beer I actually enjoyed.

IPA, stout, as a beginner beer? You freaking crazy?

Go get a Bud Light Lime, Corona Light with a lime, or a Blue Moon with an orange wedge.

Stay away from boutique beers until you've gotten over the inherent Mormon taste bias.

I don't drink beer, but what kind of proud Texan leaves Shiner Boch and Lonestar off his list?

It doesn't matter what they taste like, a real Texan would include those beers as a matter of principle.

Yep if our mormons moms weren't pumping us full of Kool-Aid and Juice boxes we would actually enjoy beer.

My favorite beer in Utah is Squatters Full Suspension.
