Yeah, I guess you can add that to the vice list. I have a lot of vices. See also, coconut cream pie from Philippe's.

Mmmmmmm.......Philippe's. That sounds really good right now.

For Lent I've given up fast food and soda. I think I'll keep off of fast food. I don't miss it. Soda is going to be more difficult. The root beer float thread has me craving some of those things. I made a personal commitment to get healthier and to change my eating habits. This thread is causing me some doubt.

I have a fond place in my heart for Pizza Pipeline. I went there all the time in high school at good old Central Valley in Spokane. No, the pizza's not amazing but there is definitely worse out there.

HFN came to town and we went to the SC/oregon basketball game. I took him to grab some french dip before the game. He is a convert now, too.

Speaking of which, when are you back in town? We need to hit up some shabu shabu in J-Town.......healthy, low fat, and delish. Both of us win.

Also, there is this tapas place in Hollywood and the host there totally looks like you. I actually had to do a double take when we came in the door because I was like, "what the heck is CJF doing here?" It was classic.

Probably won't be in LA for a while. The new gig doesn't require travel. Until the boy is easier to travel with we probably won't be making to many pleasure trips. LA is on the wish list for my wife though. We'll have to do dinner for sure.

One of the few fast food places I would eat at in the Philippines is Tapa King. Tapa with some garlic rice. Mmmmmm.....that's good.

Same here. I love them. I actually had one for lunch today. My wife always makes fun of me for this.

Shabu shabu is one reason I envy Tim's moving to Japan. I wish I knew how to slice beef than thinly and that I could afford on of those special rigs for the house. It's like healthy fondue.

Oh man, my mouth is watering.

I hear you, brother. And who needs crackers for this stuff, eh?

There are several quality shabu shabu houses all around j-town/little tokyo, most of them little dives that are always packed. They are dang good.

I am lucky. There is a big japanese strip mall about 5 blocks from my house and there is a shabu shabu place there, too. So I can get my jones on whenever I feel like it.
