Bang is cool! Just sit back and laugh when your kids start saying "I banged you!"

I haven't read this whole thread but I want to give Stratego some love. One of my favorite board games, HFN Jr. saw it in the closet last night when were were cleaning and preparing for family to come. We have played about 6 games, he is getting good. Great game, plus a game only takes 30 mins or so.

So we purchased Anomia and Bang! and will probably try them out over the holidays with family.

The staff couldn't help me with what I was looking for but he knew everything about it (I was trying to find the game Fluxx), and he told me about his blog. Nice guy.
Buying something new for you to lose to me at?

Surfah, in addition to all of the great ideas coming from the Funks, [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Asmodee-849418-Werewolves-Millers-Hollow/dp/B0009Z3M8S/ref=pd_sim_t_2"]Amazon.com: Werewolves of Millers Hollow: Toys & Games@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51BeRqtG3HL.@@AMEPARAM@@51BeRqtG3HL[/ame] is a great game for big groups (with the expansion, it can play up to 20). Werewolf is just a party game, like Murder or Mafia. I have found that big groups of Mormons LOVE this game (I think it plays best around a campfire, and probably tickles some genetic component of our pioneering forebears.)

Thunderstone plays really well with two players. We thought San Juan was really boring when we rented it from the local game store, but some people love it. I really love Dominion, and it uses the same deck-building mechanism of Thunderstone. I like Thunderstone and Dominion fairly equally, but Mpfunk definitely favors the former.

Pandemic plays well with two, and you can also double up on roles so that it plays more like a four-player variation if you wish.

All 3 games play very well 2 player. Those really are 3 of my favorite games. Thunderstone is very geeky though so keep that in mind. I probably would recommend Dominion to a new gamer over Thunderstone. Mechanics are simpler and it is a quicker game. You wont go wrong with any of those games.

Okay, my last post in answering Surfah's question. I was recommended this game by someone at the game store when I was looking for gateway games. I didn't get it because it doesn't play well with a small group, but it does go up to 10 players.

I've never played but heard good things about Incan Gold. It plays up to 8 players.

Sorry I meant to say it only scales to 7.
