I watched it with low expectations that were met or exceeded. Everyone in the movie turns their over-the-top acting dials to 11, with the exception of Phylicia Rashad who doesn't have enough screen time to do so. I was impressed how Jason Statham says all of his lines while keeping a straight face, although I suspect somewhere there are miles of outtakes where he and others failed to do so. It helps that the targets of the gratuitous violence are internet and telephone scammers, so pretty much every viewer will be on board with the mayhem. And the movie is directed by David Ayer who did a great job wifh Fury.

In the mood for a stupid action movie? The Beekeeper awaits.

It is just ridiculous fun. A lot of people act like they are too good for those types of movies.

      • "Stupid action movie" is a very good description. It's fairly similar in plot sophistication to the Statham's Transporter series. If you are in the mood for a mindless shoot-em-up flick, this fits the bill.

It kind of reminds me of the old Commando movie and other mindless action movies that Ahhnold Schwarzenegger did - explosions, violence, nonsense plot, etc. Statham has that brooding strong/silent type vibe that he does better than anyone else, but he doesn't deliver the classic one-liners that Ahhnold used to deliver and which made Ahhnold's action movies "fun".

Let's take a step back here for a minute. Statham is great, but he doesn't do that better than Vin Diesel.

OK. Sometimes I like a stupid action movie. John Wick, anyone?

I watched it and, though stupid, it was also fun.

I confess to never having seen a Vin Diesel movie.

I don't think I can name a day more deadlier than January 6... Maybe when Video killed the Radio Star.

Interesting? I guess that's one word to describe it.

One of my favorite images from that awful day was Trump-lover Senator Hawley running away in fear from the rioters. That he, other Trumpists, and Babylon Bee (a wanna be right-wing Onion that is rarely very funny) now downplay the seriousness of that day is disgusting. Imagine how they'd be reacting to that day if the rioters were BLM protestors.
