  • OK computer top album of past 25 years

According to Q magazine (English equivalent to Spin). Ok Computer is top album of past 25 years. I must be a Brit at heart, because I also love Oasis'. Artic Monkey's are great, but ranked waaaaaay too high and The Strokes too low, in my opinion. Obviously, way more UK than American bands on this list.

    :: The Top 30 albums are as follows;

    1. OK Computer - Radiohead
    2. Nevermind - Nirvana
    3. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis
    4. Definitely Maybe - Oasis
    5. Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not - Arctic Monkeys
    6. The Joshua Tree - U2
    7. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
    8. The Bends - Radiohead
    9. Achtung Baby - U2
    10. Black Holes And Revelations - Muse
    11. Is This It - The Strokes
    12. A Rush Of Blood To The Head - Coldplay
    13. Parklife - Blur
    14. Screamadelica - Primal Scream
    15. White Blood Cells - The White Stripes
    16. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
    17. Hot Fuss - The Killers.
    18. Kid A - Radiohead
    19. Funeral - Arcade Fire
    20. American Idiot - Green Day

The Bends 10 spots above Kid A? Two Oasis albums and the Arctic Monkeys above both of them? Lol.

I love to see Neutral Milk Hotel up there. Two Headed Boy is one of my favorite songs ever.

3 Muse albums on the list? I enjoy me some Muse, but 3 albums in the top 30?

          No rap?

          Yeah this list sucks.

I've listened to lots of this music and I'm off the opinion that most people who like it, like it only because they think it makes them super cool music nerds.

They evidently only sample a very small fraction of the music being produced.

That's their top list of the last 25 years! Yikes. Maybe in the UK, only. Maybe UK pop charts? That list lacking.

No Pixies, Wilco, Pavement, The wrong REM album (Fables or Document are better), Public Enemy, LCD Soundsystem,The Replacments, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, The Cure, Dr Dre, Foo Fighters, Wu-Tang, Beck, Dylan, Chemical Brothers, Jay-Z, Neil Young, J. Cash,Talking Heads, My Morning Jacket, Flamming Lips, The Shins, I could go on...

I read this list this morning and had the same reaction as everybody else so I didn't bother posting. This is just what happens in a fan poll.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I was mentally trying to put together my top 10 of the last 25 years and my head almost exploded. Way too many choices.

                      In no particular order
                      The White Stripes- Elephant
                      The White Stripes- Icky Thump
                      Oasis- WYSMG
                      Oasis-Definitely Maybe
                      Strokes- Is This It
                      Ryan Adams-Hearbreaker
                      U2- Joshua Tree
                      Radiohead- Ok Computer
Foo Fighters- The Colour and the Shape
                      The Killers- Hot Fuss
                      Nirvana- Nevermind
                      Pearl Jam- Ten
Modest Mouse- The Moon & Antartica
Guns and Roses- Appetite for Destruction
                      Green Day- Dookie
                      Green Day- American Idiot
                      Springsteen- The Rising
                      Jay-Z-Black
Public Enemy-Fea of a Black Planet
                      Dylan- Modern Times

Of course you're missing a bunch. You've got like ten bands in there.

Artic Monkey's are great, but ranked waaaaaay too high and The Strokes too low, in my opinion. Obviously, way more UK than American bands on this list.

                              :: The Top 30 albums are as follows;

                              1. OK Computer - Radiohead

I'm going to go ahead and say it. This list sucks. I haven't listened to many of these albums, but I know that their Radiohead rankings are awful. Also, they didn't even give jazz its token 1 album.
