  • I'm Still Here.

I totally believed it was a true documentary of Joachim Phoenix's slow deterioration and descent into madness.

When Casey Affleck announced that it was all a hoax, I went back and reviewed some of the footage. Yeah, I can believe that Phoenix was dedicated enough to his craft and brave enough to become a laughingstock. But I don't see any other evidence of it being fiction. Where are all the outtakes showing Joachim not-crazy? Why when Afleck said it was all faked including the entire cast, are all the credits for characters playing "themselves?" How come P. Diddy so hostile to the camera crew if he was in on the joke? How could Phoenix not break character, even when woken in the middle of the night by some guy taking a crap on his face?

    I dont know.

I'm more likely to buy the notion that Casey decided to film Joachim for a year after going off the lithium.

She is definitely a piece of work.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

      • True to my word, I skipped the Siesta Bowl and took the wife and kids to Tangled. Best Disney movie I have seen since the late 80's. An instant classic that truly took me back to my childhood. Loved it and can't wait to see it again.

My wife has taken our daughter to it twice now and says I must see it. Now I understand how these animated movies break box office records.

          • My kids were watching Julia & Julie on TV, and an interesting thing happened. I immediately picked up that it was Julia Child, but never did consider who the actor was. A couple of minutes later I noticed that it was Meryl Streep. My already high appreciation for Meryl went up another notch.

If that's not the feel good movie of (last) year then I don't know what is.

              • We watched 1955's Rififi last night. If you like heist movies like Ocean's 11 and The Killing, this has one of the best heist scenes ever put on film, a completely wordless half hour sequence that keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Took my wife on Saturday. Was surprised about how good it was. Jolie was OK, but Depp was very good. Enjoyable show IMHO.

                  • I got "The Triplets of Belleville" for Christmas and watched it Saturday night. What an interesting movie. No dialogue to speak of; completely animated; crazy storyline and characters. Definitely worth watching. (And yes, I am a sucker for anything that references The Tour de France).

It was ok, but has a real doozy of a gay sex scene that would have made me skip the movie had I known it was in there.

Jim Carrey? Ewan McGregor? Gay sex scene? The mind boggles.

My expectations were too high; I found it very slow. I was tickled at how they filmed the Los Angeles scenes in downtown Salt Lake City.

Make no mistake, they were REALLY good as their respective characters, but the crudeness was over the top.

Wide streets, friendly people. Sounds just like LA to me.
