I started buying shoes or boots and purses for the missus beginning a few Christmases ago and have been immensely pleased with her reaction and expressions of gratitude. Unfortunately, when she revealed my gift-giving to other women in the ward, their husbands became very displeased with me, including one who concluded I'm gay.

What the Hell was I thinking.. Oh, I know, I wasn't...
The same thing I was thinking when I got married within 2 weeks of Valentines Day.... "Sweet, 2 birds with 1 stone!" Oh well.

I realized that it will always be 2 birds with 2/3/4 stones after our 1st Anniversary...

Ha! Aristides buys me shoes and purses, but he adds a flair of machismo to it all by throwing in some sort of kitchen item. So he probably ticks off all the men at church and the feminists!

Purses and shoes really are great gifts. For one thing, the size doesn't change really from shoe style to shoe style. I love the stories of my friends' husbands buying them clothes that are either way to small or way too large. Poor hubbies.

I spend way more time looking at and buying women's shoes than men's. It's just kind of a habit at this point. If I'm walking through Nordstrom, I'll stop and check out the sales racks to see if there's anything in my wife's size she may like. Not that long ago I was sifting through some shoes at Nords and this lady looks at me and goes "uh, you're a guy." I said "uh, thanks, that's good to know."
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
