The ultimate is the anniversary sale each summer; even the new stuff is on sale and they have all the sizes. If you get a Nordstrom debit card, you get early access. I'm sure you know this, just saying for Robin to mark his calendar.

Hey, i'll be in St. Double G as well. Let's grab breakfast, and we can commiserate about our non-presence at the NMHYS.

It would take some HUGE incentive to get me to go anywhere near that place. Just my opinion, and probably a minority opinion at that, but I feel it with every fiber of my being.
    Bah humbug!

All of the shaking, and getting splashed on a stupid log ride, and getting waved at by a bear, and the expensive horrible food... there isn't enough weed in SoCal to get me to enjoy Disneyland.
oh, and good luck with the sale. Ask the manager or assistant manager of sportwear and furnishings which items will be going on sale. I imagine a salesperson might not be totally helpful since they'll want a sale then and there, but the managers would be down to make an appointment with you.

I found out that the men's departments bring one third of their year's volume during the month of December. You guys don't like to shop a whole lot, do you?!

It's more about the memories made for them, and the nostalgia for the rest of us. The kids are really what makes it so fun, and then it's an opportunity for us to be childlike with them. We all have other opportunities to take vacations and time away that are more suitable for our actual ages, but I love the experience I get to have with my nieces and nephews, as well as my siblings.

By the way, you sound like an ex-boyfriend of mine. We quite literally broke up the weekend after a Disneyland trip with our friends because he was such a jackass the whole time. I'm not saying you're innately a jackass, but I imagine you'd probably hate it as much as he did, and make sure that everyone knew it.

As a response to all of the above - it basically guarantees that individuals who have thousands to spend will spend it with Nordstrom and not NM or Saks or Bloomies, because they know that if ANYTHING goes wrong, they will be taken care of. There are people who abuse it, but I'm pretty sure it's marginal as compared to the overall clientele.

I'm pretty sure Collectors pieces have different rules around them as far as returns go, and I know I've bought dresses that had a tag saying you could return the fine evening wear with tags still attached. But outside of those two cases I don't see anything else that would indicate that they wouldn't accept anything. It is what it is.

But it's definitely why I get my friends gifts from there, just in case something doesn't work. Also, they can track your purchases so effectively. It's pretty nice.
