She is wanting boots specifically for when we go sledding or skiing, that is about it. Also, we live right with a mountain and trails in our backyard, so she wants to trudge in the snow a bit with the kids. I think the sorels will work. I don't think she is looking for fashion boots. I will save the receipt just in case.

Speaking of this, I have banged out a lot of my X-mas shopping duties already. MMM is all finished (just need to pick up her boots tomorrow). Bought a gift for my mom, bought a gift for both of my FILs, and have almost everything for the Puffy Check birthday and X-mas. How is everybody else doing? Normally I wait until the last minute but it is nice getting it done early. Are you all anywhere near being done?

I do wonder if shopping early is a mistake. It seems easier to continue buying stuff all month long, justifying each additional purchase. Buying early mind wind up costing more incrementally over procrastination.

Haven't even started, although I've at least got a list to work from. I usually don't get going until a week before the big day.

I was unclear in my post. When i say "both of my FILs," I meant one present for my father in law and one present for my homeboy, filsdepac.

                • I'm looking to get my 3 year old a punching bag and gloves this Christmas. He needs something to release his significant aggression and it's all I can think of. Any tips on a punching bag for a toddler?

                      • LeapFrog's LeapPad is looking like a pretty hot toy. Most retailers are already sold out and are only getting one or two in at a time. There are plenty of people trying to sell them for nearly double the list price, though.

For his 7th B-day I bought Jr. a punching bag, it was the one that looks like a guy with great abs but no arms.

It is fun to have around, the boys definatley take some aggression out on it once a week or so. It was around $100 I think.

                            • I think those are cool, too. I've liked the suggestions I've received by everyone. What it came down to was the fact that I've heard her ask specifically about the Sorels. I bought them yesterday...but I saved the receipt.

                              • I'm going to buy my wife a camera tripod for Christmas. Any suggestions? It should be quality but not too expensive. She won't like it if it costs too much money. Maybe I should ask in the photography thread.
