I have three. This one is in the web site, I think it was common:

Go West, "I'll get over you, I know I will, I'll pretend my sh*ts not stinking..."

    Another one:

Chumbawumba, "Kissing the night away... Kissing the night away..."

    This one makes perfect sense:

    Vengaboys:
Whoah! We're Going To Eat Pizza
    Whoah! Back To The Island
Whoah! We're Going To Eat Pizza
Whoah! We're Gonna Have A Party

Even more understandable is that the song title, listed clearly on the cassette, LP, or 8-track, is "Carry On Wayward Son." So I can see how one could bungle the lyrics.

BTW, has anyone ever been able to figure out the lyrics to "Sgt. Pepper's ???? ???? Band?" It is on the Beatles' "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" album. I can't figure out what they are saying for the life of me. It is a good song, though.

          Now I'm really embarrassed.

            misheard lyrics....

Just heard a blast from the past, that never made much sense to me in HS

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscle
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a bite of my sandwich

I probably only knew the lyrics because I had the record. Thanks Columbia Record Club.

Unless they referenced that in The Man From Snowy River or Mad Max, I don’t think I have any other Australian interactions in 1985.

LOL. I also got the album via Columbia Records. And never fulfilled my obligation after getting 12 cassettes for a dollar

Also from the same Columbia Record shipment:

There's nothing that a hundred men on Mars could ever do
I'd miss the rains down in Africa...

I always thought it was "a hundred men on board" and "I guess the rain's down in Africa..."

A hundred men on board is loads better than 'on Mars'. My kids still berate me for that.

I too always thought it sounded like "on Mars" and "I'd miss". Later I figured out it was "hundred men or more" but I never did figure out "I bless the rains" until I googled it just now.

I think "I miss the rains" is better than"I bless".
