He's going to veto everything that doesn't have Stephen Miller's little spank bank white nationalist wish list aka the RAISE Act. He's not interested in bipartisan anything. It's not going to bode well after November.

Well, the dems should put a bill in front of him rather than being obstructionist (given BK's assertion that he won't sign anything). If he vetos it then that will make for good ammunition for the dems come campaign time. Right now it seems the dumb dems could be falling right into Drumpf's trap.

That's not illegal. Many migrants have permission to travel freely in Mexico. Residency is another issue. Mexico is not part of or subservient to our government, contrary to the opinion of orange face.

They wouldn't be residing in Mexico... they would be traveling up to the border to have their day in front of the judge. They could stop off at the first US consulate along the way to get the asylum process rolling, and then take their time traveling up to the border. Maybe take in a few sites on the way. They could maybe stop off stop off at the beach in Playa del Carmen or do a day trip out to Chichén Itzá. By the time they make it to the border they then don't have to spend so much time at the "Drumpf Tower" in Dilley Texas watching the new paint dry or something.

How do Democrats put a bill in front of T? It would need to get out of committee, and if it did that, it would then need to pass the House and the Senate for T to be able to veto it.

They should try working with the GOP'ers on a compromise bill rather than playing politics... it seems the dems have been wondering around in the wilderness for the last decade when it comes to immigration.

Yes, it does look like Crowley is going to lose to the "Bernie Sanders" candidate...

Ocasio-Cortez is a Latina Bronx native and community organizer who is more or less running on a viral campaign ad produced by a pair of Detroit-based Democratic Socialist for America (DSA) activists. She has raised just $200,000, mainly in small donations. She’s running on a boldly progressive platform, including Medicare-for-all, a federal jobs guarantee, and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“This race is about people versus money. We’ve got people. They’ve got money,” Ocasio-Cortez says in the ad.

If this were any other year, it’s likely this race wouldn’t get any attention at all. A candidate with no money — even one with a compelling personal story — against one of the most powerful House Democrats wouldn’t even be a contest. After all, Crowley is a 10-term incumbent who is the fourth most powerful Democrat in House leadership.

But this primary has become a proxy for the debate over establishment Democrats versus democratic socialism that has reared its head in the party since Sen. Bernie Sanders’s blockbuster 2016 candidacy. It’s clear that Ocasio-Cortez’s supporters are hoping to use the fact that Crowley has so much money and power against him. And if she’s successful, it would be a huge upset — one not seen since Eric Cantor lost his primary to David Brat in Virginia in 2014.

It seems the dem party is becoming divided.

President Trump on Tuesday threatened the iconic motorcycle company Harley-Davidson with severe taxes and predicted a public revolt that he said would eventually put the 115-year-old firm out of business, blasting the Wisconsin company for a plan to move some operations outside the United States as a way to avoid getting caught in the middle of an escalating trade war.

Trump also accused Harley-Davidson, without providing any evidence, of intentionally misleading Americans by saying the firm was moving some operations out of the United States in response to new tariffs imposed by the European Union.

The intensity of these attacks, which he typically reserves for political opponents, came in Twitter posts.

He alleged that Harley-Davison’s Monday announcement that it would move some more operations outside the United States was long planned and that it was using Europe’s new tariffs as an excuse. He threatened to hit the company with an unspecified tax if it attempted to sell motorcycles in the United States that were made outside the country.

Harley-Davidson had long planned to open a new plant in Thailand, a decision that predated the trade war between Trump and the leaders of a number of other countries. But the firm said Monday that it was shifting more production overseas specifically to blunt the impact of the tariffs imposed by Europe.

These E.U. tariffs on specific U.S. products were imposed in retaliation against Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the E.U.

Tuesday marked Trump’s second straight day of leveling attacks at Harley-Davidson. The company’s announcement sparked a massive sell-off in the stock market amid fears that other companies might follow suit, worried about getting caught in the middle of Trump’s trade war with Europe, Canada, Mexico, China, Japan and possibly India.

In his Tuesday morning Twitter posts, Trump wrote that “Harley must know that they won’t be able to sell back into the U.S. without paying a big tax!”

It was unclear what he meant. He has threatened such a tax since the 2016 campaign, but he hasn’t imposed one, and Congress has blocked his efforts to craft such a tax. He could be referring to the tariffs he is attempting to unilaterally impose on imports.

The Dems can't put a bill in front of him because they are the minority and house leadership won't allow something to even come to the floor for a vote unless they think most house Republicans support it. It's called the Hastert rule. That's how entrenched the gridlock is. I can't believe you don't know that.

They should try working with the GOP'ers on a compromise bill rather than playing politics... it seems the dems have been wondering around in the wilderness for the last decade when it comes to immigration.

There are some current bills just like that right now that can't be voted on because the Republican house leadership refuses to allow them to come to the floor for a vote. There is this thing called a discharge petition that would force a floor vote if they can get a majority of house members to sign on. They are about five votes short of that. If speaker Ryan had any courage at all he would allow the various proposed bills to be voted on.

Given how Harley-Davidson's stock has been doing lately he might be right about the eventual collapse... a lost of $600+ million in market cap in the last few days. Ouch!

Nope. Not with this administration. A compromise is to basically concede to the extremist bullshit. That's why Republicans are scrambling to pass a bill before midterms- they know DACA is an inevitability and they want to get some concessions they'll never have a chance to get again. I say we're ok to wait.

It's all stupidly irrelevant anyway. Several democrats were in the room with Trump when he said he'd sign whatever they and the Republicans in there came up with. Then they did come up with a compromise. But not surprisingly Trump went back on his word. There is zero evidence Trump would sign anything. At least his actions consistently say he doesn't want any compromise. When they were working on the two republican bills last week he slammed both of them at one point, even the extreme one. The only logical explanation is that he thinks he gets more out of it politically by leaving it unresolved.
