That is left to the discretion of the bishop.

I actually support the change. Hopefully it pushes leaders to update a much more ridiculous policy: a male and female can team teach a primary class only if they’re married or siblings. I can imagine the number of affairs were sparked by a sensuous retelling of the 2000 Stripling Warriors to a group of 7 year olds.

Yep. My wife went from Permanent Sub to an actual assignment with another sister. Which means that I get to sit in (and thus avoid EQ) whenever that sister can't make it, and that possibility makes me happy. EQ looks to be a real slogfest these days, particularly since someone has decided that every week we need to sit in a circle.

I like the sit in a circle thing.

Our EQ has been meeting in the High Council room (like the High Priests used to do before the merger). Some of the HP like to sit at the actual table, most of us are in the chairs lining the walls. All of the seats are cushioned.

Our EQ presidency got the boot, with the exception of the former EQ pres, who was made the first counselor in the new presidency as some kind of lame nod to the old regime. The rest of the presidency was taken over by HPs.

                • Interesting, our ward kept the old EQ president and he choose new councilors - all elders. No HPs in leadership

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

My ward kept the HPGL by making him the EQP. He then called two HP as counselors. I think the secretary is an elder...but I honestly can’t remember for sure. It’s basically been a HP take over both in leadership and teaching...oh and in commenting too

                    • Our stake retained the existing EQ presidencies as previously constituted until they can redo each one. So it's all elders in leadership for now.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                          • Our new EQP was the old scoutmaster (he's been a bishop in another state). His 1C is an early-morning seminary teacher who was previously on the high council. 1C is a good dude, but his wife is an anti-pornography nut. Every lesson, every VT visit, etc. circles around to porn. Her son's Eagle Project was a conference on porn and online predation. I feel bad for 1C because I'm pretty sure his wife's crusade is based on their family's experiences. Either that or he's married to a sociopath. A no-win situation.

2C was WML and is an elder. Strange guy with strange kids and a strange wife. But he's a workhorse. He'll do anything you ask him to.

Secretary is probably my best friend in the ward. We've both been in YM since we moved in, so I don't know if he's a HP or Elder.
