    • Trent Franks must have been inspired by this story and put a different spin on it:

Yes, that's happened at least a few times.

The "Dr. Feelgood" story I linked to above was in my Crim Law text. It's also kind of hilarious.

I think so, but I can't find it. My BIL's good friend from high school is an OB surgeon, and he was telling us he had a woman on the table for some procedure when another surgeon who was there lifted up the sheet and said "I knew they were fake". The friend then replied, "Bishop, I don't think that's ethical." People do some really stupid things.

                    • Not hollywood, but since we don't have an official "Politics/Law, Heal Thyself" thread I'll just put it here.

Judge Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit is feeling the heat. Multiple women alleging that he showed them pornography in his office and asked them if it aroused them.

A former clerk for Judge Alex Kozinski said the powerful and well-known jurist, who for many years served as chief judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, called her into his office several times and pulled up pornography on his computer, asking if she thought it was photoshopped or if it aroused her sexually.

Heidi Bond, who clerked for Kozinski from 2006 to 2007, said the porn was not related to any case. One set of images she remembered was of college-age students at a party where “some people were inexplicably naked while everyone else was clothed.” Another was a sort of digital flip book that allowed users to mix and match heads, torsos and legs to create an image of a naked woman.

Bond is one of six women — all former clerks or more junior staffers known as externs in the 9th Circuit — who alleged to The Washington Post in recent weeks that Kozinski, now 67 and still serving as a judge on the court, subjected them to a range of inappropriate sexual conduct or comments. She is one of two former clerks who said Kozinski asked them to view porn in his chambers.
[Kozinski] told The Los Angeles Times that he was unaware of any formal complaint against him. “If this is all they are able to dredge up after 35 years, I am not too worried,” he said.

LOL @ the Kozinski quote. Yeah, I'm sure that's all they have and all they will ever uncover, pal.

Kozinski is retiring after all of the sexual misconduct allegations.

He told the Post he was retiring because he could no longer be an effective jurist. Two of his four law clerks resigned last week as reports of his misbehavior escalated on the internet.

The 9th Circuit last weekend called for an investigation into the reports.

Federal judges have lifetime terms and can be removed only by Congress. But the court system can sanction them and pressure them to resign. The probe into the allegations had not yet begun when Kozinski decided to retire.

                              • It's kind of hilarious how Franken isn't resigining anymore. I don't think he should resign, actually.

So much for all that moral high ground the Democrats fought so hard to seize by acting like they were pushing Franken out the door.
