One bad habit I keep seeing....Bynum sets up too far away from the basket. He needs to demand the ball down low, instead of the top of the key. Celtics will eat him up if he has to set up so far out.

I keep forgetting this team is missing Walton. And Farmar. And Odom.

    Depth.
I think that Bynum sets up so far away from the hoop because of Gasol, its hard to find a balance when you have two 7 footers.

COuld be. I have noticed that when jax is platooning these guys and gasol is on the bench, Bynum still likes to ask for it at the top of the key.

Going through the west, he could get away with it against Yao, maybe. Yao is not terribly physical. But against Duncan....not so much.

Fortunately, Bynum has proven to be a pretty competent passer. So what he lacks on the front end he makes up for by hitting the open cutter.

I'm also having a hard time caring at all this year.

I enjoy watching the Jazz, but aside from that I haven't watched an entire NBA game other than that Jazz.

It carries little interest for me as it's the one major sport that holds little to no unpredictability, and where outcomes are more controlled and contingent regarding referee involvement than any other sport. I know many here will disagree with me on that point, but it's pointless to change my mind, cause I've felt strongly about that for years. There isn't a single person or fan that should've been genuinely surprised by the Donaghy scandal.

Call me bitter, jaded, a conspiracy theorist or whatever you want, but I honestly believe that he was just the tip of the iceberg regarding dirty referees over the past 20-25 years.

If any fan tells me that they were geniunely surprised then I do not believe them as I'd like to have a shred of me left that would like to believe that we haven't become THAT guillable.

Loved the push off no call. And then Ariza hammered to the floor no call?

God bless Josh Powell. Not having Sasha, Walton, and Farmar is hurting us.

Holy shit. What a horrible game by these officials. Horrible travel call on Ariza at the end. They've been making a point to call those offensive fouls on shooters throwing their legs out to draw the foul. Mason does exactly this and they call the foul on DFish. Man, I usually don't get worked up by regular season games but that game had me painting the walls blue in my living room.

fisher should not have fouled after he was beat, but Ariza didn't travel. he took two steps on the replay. lame.

oh, well. time to get ready for Orlando at home on Friday.

The Spurs gave it their best shot at full strength. they blew a lead at the end of the game and needed a travel call to win it. No worries.

I ain't worried either, because the Spurs will be at home in June watching the Lakers. But man, what a poorly officiated game. I can't wait for the Lakers to get healthy.

Orlando should be a good game if Bynum gets up for it. He's been putting up numbers but his defense seems to be lacking. His feet have been awfully slow.

my wife is coming to LA on Fri and we are going to do a date night. I am considering walking 6 or so blocks from the office and treating her to a romantic Lakers/Magic game.

When flopping becomes the sole strategy of all NBA teams?

Just a quick reminder, Ariza missed the shot on that traveling call. It was not traveling but he still missed the shot and Duncan had the rebound with .8 left.

I think the Spurs found a chink in the Lakers armor last night, they attacked Fisher most of the night. He is a defensive liability at this stage in his career.

The only thing the Spurs exposed last night was lack of depth at PG because of injuries. Fisher had to log lots of minutes without Farmar, Sasha, and even Walton to help handle the ball.

As an on the ball defender Fisher has always been a liability on defense. He's always been burned by faster guards who use the screen well. He never goes over the top of screens. The only thing he is good at is help defense and giving up his body in the lane for a charge. He can muscle guards that want to post up, but he doesn't have the quickness to keep up with the likes of Parker or Nash.

Love DFish, I'm glad he's back on the squad, but Parker has been abusing him for years. The Lakers have lacked a stopper @ PG for YEARS; I would kill for a guy like Rondo.

Yeah, but Fisher's 3 game is nice to have as well. If Rondo could stretch the floor with his shot I'd agree. You need a PG who can shoot from the corner in the triangle.
