The unofficial (or perhaps official) golf club/equipment thread
I've been the rounds with it, and, in the words of George Costanza "I'm back baby!" My setup and swing mechanics were pretty crappy for a large portion of last summer. My last few trips to the driving range suggest I've figured out what was wrong.
Those results are certain to translate to the course.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Daddy likey. Plus, as someone who grew up in Utah, I dig products that end in z. I'm glad it only took TM a season to ditch the neon green.
I went to a golf shop while in Mesquite last Saturday. I also likey, the feel and the look. I think the pictures of them are as clack said, ugly. However, when actually seeing and gripping them they look good.
The guy had a sale except he had the graphite shafts only in soft flex. He wanted me to order them, but I am a see, buy and take with me customer.
I told him I would call them and if they can make me a better deal than Uintah, I will let him order them for me.

Dude, I was feeling good about my Mizuno's because byu71 was swinging them also. Don't change on me!

I still love my Mizuno's, but I get the itch every now and then. Plus the Mizuno's I have are with a special graphite shaft that will cost me a mint if I replace them with the same shaft. I have already replaced two of them and it feels odd having two clubs I know the shafts are different on.
I probably should hit the new Mizuno's first before doing anything. I do love Mizuno's.
I put my clubs on craigslist yesterday for $550, and they are gone today for $500. I sold them to a huckelberry who pulled out a wad of 100's much bigger than my fist. Easy more than 2'" of hundreds, and easy more than 10K. He asked me if the clubs were real, and I said as real as those hundreds you're holding...

I didn't know drug dealers golfed. Maybe he just wanted to collect on some receivables in Ping style.

I may be in the market for a new putter. My putter has served me well for almost a decade, but I've really been struggling with it recently. I just don't feel confident with my alignment anymore. I'm especially shaky in the 4'-8' range, I'm either pulling or pushing way too many of these length putts. I'm considering a mid-size mallet.

I still really like my two-ball putter. But with respect to any of my golf issues, the equipment is never the weak link in the causal chain.

Sounds like you need Rodney's putter:

My current model:
The good ol' Futura. I used to love that putter. Now I am using a Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.6. It has been pretty good tom me the last year. For a mid size mallet, I like the look of the Cameron GoLo S5. Looks clean and I like straight shafted putters.

So I haven't had a chance to hit these yet, but I went and hit the Ping i20s and the Cleveland CG16 Tours at lunch today. The i20s are so, so rewarding on good shots. The ball flight is just piercing. The CG16s are slightly less rewarding, but definitely more forgiving. I was hitting 6 iron with both. Solid hits were flying around 175-180 with both clubs. However, the misses with the Ping were off line and between 10-15 yards short. The misses with the Cleveland held their line and were only about 7 yards short. The Pings are $699 and the Clevelands are $329 (15% off at Golfsmith plus free shipping this weekend!) though they are only 5-PW. Big price difference has me leaning towards the Clevelands.
I'm going to go hit the RBladez Tour this afternoon. However, unless they feel/perform unbelievably better than the CG16s, I'll probably end up buying the Clevelands.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
What are some of the best sites to find deals on golf bags? I want a new one but don't want to spend more than $100
For $100, you're probably better off going with a lesser-known brand because you're going to get more bells and whistles. For that price you're going to get bare bones from most of the more popular brands. I think you definitely want a 14-club divider at top, as it makes it easy to keep your clubs in order (and keep track of them). But for sure don't' go less than 7 slot dividers. If you're planning on carrying your clubs, make sure to get full-length dividers, as your clubs will rattle around less. Here are a few you might like:
You can tool around on those sites and see some other stuff, too.

Thank you. I like the Tour Trek in the black and green. The local Dicks has bags going on sale this weekend. I am waiting to see what I might be able to pick up there. If I can't find one, I think that I will pick that up. Thanks!
I'm your huckleberry.
