Despite Taysom saying he's 100% on Saturday at the St. George fan meet n greet? I don't buy this. Don't believe the hype!Originally posted by woot View PostSomebody named Jeremy Mauss just tweeted:

Taysom is hot!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

TBS article on Jon-Ryheem Peoples....just another in the long and proud list of contributors to the BYU from the 208!
http://byu.scout.com/2/1294253.html
This is one '71 will love. He talks about believing BYU can prepare him for the NFL. Not about picking BYU for the "atmosphere." Don't get me wrong, "atmosphere" is one of Mendenhall's points of strength but I don't think we should be too surprised when kids who come for the "atmosphere" don't develop into NFL players.
Once he accomplishes greatness I am sure Utah will push to have his statue put in the Capitol. No good carpet baggin' carrot snappers! Did you Utes also know Larry Wilson was from Rigby, ID? Amazing lil town. Go JonRyheem...go and make your people proud of you...ooooooooo-oooo-oo!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Is the NT position easier to learn than the DE in a 3-4? It seems to me that the DE has more responsibilities and would thus require more mental ability and experience whereas as a NT it is probably less reading and more driven to just drive into a certain gap and occupy blockers. I wonder if Peoples' career at BYU could be similar to Manu's in playing mostly NT as a freshman and then moving out to DE as a sophomore. Next year BYU will be better at NT with the return of Tuiloma and once Tuni Kanuch has a year of experience and gets back into football playing shape. Further, JonRyheem is already at 340 lbs, I am sure he can lose weight but I wonder if physically it might be better to play him at NT this year and then after football season work on choosing a weight to play at DE, 300-310 I would think, and work with him to get to that weight while he is under the loving guidance and control of BYU's training professionals rather than a personal trainer at the Apple Gym in Idaho Falls, ID.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostTBS article on Jon-Ryheem Peoples....just another in the long and proud list of contributors to the BYU from the 208!

I also found it pretty funny and very sad that one of our most promising specimens is reduced to driving 20 miles to Apple Athletic Club in I.F. just to get his pump on. Also, why is Kyle still talking mad shit on BYU? Does BYU do that to Utah? Not according to Unga, I know, but give me a break!"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Notre dame QB Golson no longer enrolled at ND.

Yeah that's big news, especially since Gunner Kiel already transferred to Cinci. Golson was maybe going to be a superstar this season. Instead it's probably back to nth year guy Tommy Rees, who is actually quite competent when he's not giving the ball to the other team 5 times a game. But he's started parts of 3 seasons now so he shouldn't be terrible.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostNotre dame QB Golson no longer enrolled at ND.

If Malik Zaire, who enrolled in the spring, comes along, he could also push Rees. He seems like he'll be pretty good.

The defensive staff is visiting the Steelers. IIRC, last year they did the same with the Texans.
