I have been toying with the idea of signing up for HBO for a month or two, just to grab a copy of the Game of Thrones series. Everyone seems to rave about it.

As someone said, you should catch season 5 of the wire.

Is True Blood worth watching? I caught part of an episode once and it seemed kind of cheesy.

Boardwalk Empire started up again last night. It's great show.

I dl'd Game of Thrones two weeks ago. Started the first episode at 9:30 pm Friday night after putting the kids to bed and couldn't FORCE myself to go to bed until after the 7th episode. Made for a tired Saturday, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for Season 2 (next year?).

Anyway, I was naughty and downloaded it via torrent file (in 1080P - excellent quality). I can PM you the torrent tag if you like, or search for yourself at thepiratebay dot org. I can stream to my TV via Roku (AppleTV and Xbox/PS3 would do the same I believe), or just watch it on the computer.

The Wire is, simply, one of the greatest shows in the history of TV. Thanks for the suggestion.

I got into True Blood, mostly because my wife LOVED the Twilight stuff. Vampires vs Werewolves has to be one of the most overdone genres, but True Blood makes it fun in a new way. It definitely has its moments, and can be cheesy, but I enjoyed the swampy Louisiana setting and 'cultcha'. And it has some excellent characters, even if some of the story lines are not particularly interesting.

I really like Bored to Death. Not the funniest show I've ever seen, but each episode has several lol moments for me. The pacing is good too. Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson are very good in support of Jason Schwartzman.

Yep. I like this show a lot, and regret that is probably doesn't have enough oomph to last more than a couple of seasons. It is a quality little showpiece for the 3 leads.

True Blood is pretty good, about a level above Weeds in intelligence, which isn't saying too much, but it has its moments. Hope you don't mind boobs and gore.

It was great. The series premiere was possibly the best television I have ever seen. I absolutely enjoyed every single episode. I love the use of real crime figures like Luciano and Capone and Buscemi is Terrific as Nucky. The only weakness of the show is that it has just 12 episodes each season.
