Exactly. Frontrunner is about 60 minutes from SL Central to Provo Central. I'd have to Uber from Provo central to the stadium, and I'd have to take TRAX from the airport to SL Central. Rail Transit is my jam (and my career right now), but I ruled it out for this escapade without even checking the schedules.

Moliere may be on to something with the helicopter. Maybe I can arrange to deliver the game ball.

Yeah, TRAX takes me about an hour to get from the airport to Sugarhouse. I would think it would take about 20+ min just to get to SL central.

If you weren't cutting it so darned close, I would drive up and pick you up myself!

Uber or taxi are your only hope. Or the helicopter.

Can't we get him a police escort? That would be cool.

I agree with El Duderino. I would pick you up if you had more room in your schedule, probably plenty of others would be willing as well.

Even with a taxi/uber, I'm pretty convinced that you will not make kickoff or much of the first quarter. You can probably make the second quarter if everything goes well.

Traffic is always very heavy southbound on I-15 starting 1.5 hours before kickoff. For a big game like Utah it's probably going to get heavy 2 hours before kickoff. For my family's game day routine, we normally leave 2 hours before kickoff and we live in South Jordan. I don't like the idea of missing out on my primo parking space so I like to get there early to ensure I have a good space and give myself leeway to account for accidents on the freeway or other unforeseen conditions. Leaving 2 hours early means it takes us 45 minutes to get to LES and park so end up with about 75 to 60 minutes to kill before kickoff. We usually wander around campus, maybe get an ice cream cone, and generally just people watch. For a big game like Utah, which will put a heavier-than-normal-gameday load on I-15 southbound, I'm probably leaving South Jordan 2.5 hours before kickoff.

If you're not leaving the airport 1 hour before kick in your best-case scenario, I simply don't see you making the first quarter. I've been driving to LES on I-15 south for the last 20 years so I'm fairly confident in my assessment.

Would I-15 be the best route from the airport?

215 to 15 is probably best but still not good enough.

                • What's the best way to find out where the BYU section will be at the UNLV game? I've been tasked with buying some tickets for family who will come to town, and they would prefer to be as near the BYU section as possible. I tried to tell them that there will be BYU fans wherever they sit, but they would still like me to find out.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. This is UNLV. The entire stadium is the BYU section. The UNLV section is the crappy section in the south endzone.

If I search my feelings I know you are all right, but I'm an irrational optimist about things like this. If the flight is on time, I will almost certainly give it a shot. Even making three quarters of the game would be worth it to me.

They always build a lot of buffer into those flight times. You'll make it on time!
