Default List of Athletic Events that the University of California and Cal State cannot attend

California law Assembly Bill 1887 (AB 1887), which took effect in 2017 prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to states that enact a law after June 26, 2015 that voids or repeals an existing state or local protection against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
    This includes athetics.

States on the Banned List: Alabama, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Caroline, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas.

Events that Cal, UCLA, and Cal State schools cannot attend due to this rule, (unless they manage to find a loophole):

    2023 Final Four
    2025 Final Four

    Frisco Bowl
    Camellia Bowl
    Texas Bowl
    Cotton Bowl Classic
    Peach Bowl
    First Responder Bowl
    Music City Bowl
    Belk Bowl
    Sun Bowl
    Liberty Bowl
    Alamo Bowl
    Birmingham Bowl
    Armed Forces Bowl
    Mobile Alabama Bowl

Men and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships 2020

    Soccer Championships 2019

Yet another reason to hate the California legislature. Idiots.

UCLA played at Oklahoma last year. How'd they get away with that?

Isn't it fun to have a state meddle with college athletics like this? Yeah, let's burn it down!

I can't wait until the college athletes sue the state for keeping them from participating in these events under the premise that by keeping them from attending and participating they are limiting the athletes' exposure and potentially impacting the amount of money they can earn by selling their name or likeness on jerseys and other paraphernalia.

But the RB isn't held in one of the banned states. Why would it be on the list?

My point exactly. Picking what states they wish to ban. Beyond stupid..

BP is right though. No team from Cali or the PAC 12 is going to get in..

    You are dumb.

You do realize that this is a list where schools from CALIFORNIA can't participate. CALIFORNIA is in compliance... sheesh.

I'm not sure he understands why California is saying that state agencies/organizations can't travel to those places.
