  • NFL 2019--100 rings in the trunk

At 100 years old, and the age of a tree, this is the year the NFL is supposed to be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

Also, anyone playing Fantasy Football this year? I haven't done it for about 15 years, but the people at work wanted to have a team building event. I had the best draft, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm playing fantasy for the first time in about as long, also because of work. Kind of excited about it I guess.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I have four teams. It’s too much, especially given my performance the last two seasons, but I like it.

haven't played fantasy in about 10 years, but i am also playing with some guys at work.

also, who is the jerk that was supposed to manage the nfl survivor pool this year?
        I'm like LeBron James.

Any one else watch Hard Knocks this season? Gruden has to be crapping his pants so much right now. He has been kissing AB's ass all camp hoping he could salvage the situation. They're going to be so bad this year.

Time for more complaining about Utah affiliates feeling the need to broadcast Denver games every week. Fox has a doubleheader this week and there are two afternoon games to choose from -- Saints @ Rams and Bears @ Broncos. The TV schedules haven't been announced yet, but it will be hilarious if/when the Utah Fox affiliate announces they're broadcasting the execrable Broncos v. Bears game instead the most anticipated regular season game of the first half of the season.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Lol, Utah really is getting that shitty Denver v. Bears game.

Interesting only to me perhaps, but I also discovered that Utah is pretty much the only state outside of New England that only has one set affiliates. Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have four+ each. The Wyoming affiliates seem to each be getting different games assigned to them.

Southern Utah has to be one of the larger areas population-wise that has a substantial geographic distance from the tv affiliate that covers it. It's larger than all of the Idaho, Wyoming and Montana tv affiliate markets other than Boise. That hasn't always been the case, obviously.

I find it interesting as well. Utah's population is monolithic, with something like 75% of the entire state in the Wasatch Front. Idaho is much more spread out, with 33% in the Treasure Valley (Boise area).

SE Idaho constitutes a single affiliate market, so there's a population of about 300,000 served by those stations, which is bigger than Southern Utah.

I think Coeur d'Alene just gets channels from Spokane. I don't think Twin Falls has all the affiliates there--mostly repeated from Boise or SE Idaho.

So I think Idaho really only has two affiliate markets.

I'm supposed to be working to meet a deadline tonight, so I've done some important research regarding network affiliates instead. I'm assuming that these wiki pages are accurate:

                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...by_U.S._state)
                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...by_U.S._state)

                    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...by_U.S._state)

WY has two CBS affiliates and only one each of the other networks (there are several satellites from the main affiliates thought--but I don't think those count as they probably have all the same programming). Montana has a surprisingly large number of affiliates so I'll give you that.

I was just looking at the Wikipedia list, I can't tell if the affiliates merely rebroadcast something from a larger city.

In addition to the Montana markets, there are markets like Grand Junction, CO that appear to have their own affiliates. Washington and Iron Counties combine for around 225,000.

With the current network tv environment, I'm not sure how many new affiliates are being created around the country. That said, with the increasing size of southern Utah, it would be unusual for such an area being part of an affiliate located 300 miles away.

Hey CMBF, good thing your local affiliate knows what’s up, so you didn’t have to watch that Saints-Rams abomination.

In other “breaking” NFL news, Antonio Brown’s stench lingers in Pittsburgh:

Monroeville’s Dr. Victor Prisk has filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania claiming that Brown owes him $11,500 in unpaid fees.

Not only that, according to the NY Post, Dr. Prisk claims Brown repeatedly farted in his face and laughed about it during a consultation where he showed up three hours late.

Dr. Prisk said he was wary of signing Brown because of his “flighty” reputation for not paying his bills, Sports Illustrated reported.

TMZ even obtained video of the appointment in August of 2018 where Brown can be heard farting and laughing about it as Prisk tests his body fat.

“It seemed just childish to me,” Prisk told Sports Illustrated. “I’m a doctor and this man is farting in my face.”
