  • What in the world is keeping you up at night? Official Thread

There's a lot happening right now. This thread is for posting the things we don't talk about a lot here, but are worth noting and maybe diving into a bit more. Examples would be:
    -Uighur genocide in China
    -Hong Kong protests
    -South China Sea disputes
    -Potential war with Iran

Whatever it is, post it here. But let's not make this another Trump thread. I don't want that.

    - Vilification of white, conservative, religious males in today's society.
    - Relentless creep of various strains of socialism and their inevitable destruction of work ethic and independence.
    - Declining birthrate among Western nations with a concurrent glorification of selfish and vacuous pursuits.

America and Europe will still be ok if most people aren't white.

            - The increasing bellicosity of Russia and China coupled with the recession of American diplomatic soft power, and damaged intelligence community.

            - The Fragility and structural security problems with our elections and democratic processes.

            - Ecological/Environmental scary stuff

            - Fear about social security, access to healthcare, student loan debt burden etc.

            - The decline of privacy and consumer rights

My fish pond keeps growing string algae, even after I use algicide regularly. I tried the green route by adding snails, but it didn’t work. I’m wondering if it’s because I altered the microbiome by adding a bacterial solution to decrease the sludge at the bottom of the pond. I think my fish actually enjoy the cover it provides, but it is growing uncontrollably. I just don’t know what I should do now.

Oh yeah, and I worry about my kids becoming responsible adults, yadda yadda.

Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

Regardless of this forum's mockery, there are plenty of people concerned about the rise of intersectionality and the associated assignment of collective guilt.

“As for the concept of collective guilt, I personally think that it is totally unjustified to hold one person responsible for the behavior of another person or a collective of persons.”

Bret Weinstein has a string of tweets covering the danger here. These are just a couple examples. For which he was given the same mocking response.

Documentary of what Bret is talking about here:

Maybe there is no concern at all, but maybe not.

Haha! Let me guess...you're both glass half-empty kind of people. I speaking the quality not quantity of how babies sleep.

What wakes me up? My alarm. I have to get to work by 0530. After a full hard day's work, falling asleep is a piece of cake. Now go dissect that metaphor.

What about lumping all liberals together as “The left,” or “leftists?”
