Standing offer. I'll meet anyone in the NW (especially near Portland--I'm actually just across the river in WA) or visiting the area for a day of shooting. Happy to share what I know.

Yes, this is the Crater Lake area which has a ton of tourists. Some wildlife is attracted because of irresponsible humans feeding them.

This can be a sore point with some nature photographers. Use of bait or use other methods to capture images is looked down upon in some circles. I wasn't feeding, though I was using it as an opportunity to attempt catching birds in flight (next batch).

            • Last batch. Somewhat staged scene from previously captured (but not harmed) creatures. Just returned from another 9 day trip. Yellowstone -> Teton -> Leslie Gulch -> Cabin Lake Bird Blinds -> Malheur -> Steens -> Summer Lake. At least I think that's the order. It will be a different thread. Had a 500mm with me, and skies were hazy, so mostly did close wildlife and scenics rather that sweeping landscapes. I think I have about 6K images to look through (might be more).

Snakes aren’t that bad. Really, you just have to pay their retainer and make sure they are licensed in your jurisdiction, and they’ll do whatever you want.

You just kind of wrap him around the stick, and then use your hands to prevent him from moving. Well, that what the guide did anyway. I just stood there and took pictures, trying to get focus on the head before he moved again.
