Maybe donut meant that it would be Dalton Nixon attempting the layup.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Relative to how 3rd and long felt with Tanner at the helm, I'm standing by the analogy.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Tanner became famous based on two consecutive successful Hail Marys.

Unfortunately all his throws longer than ten yards were pretty much prayers. His long throws gave you a sense that you hoped something good might happen but you never expected anything good to happen.

Wilson is accurate enough you expect the ball to be caught and then of course he can also convert with his legs while Mangum truly runs like a middle-aged accountant.

Mangum was famous for more than two successful Hail Mary's ...

"Mangum ranks No. 12 all-time in BYU history in passing yardage, having completed 548 of 918 passes for 6,200 yards with 39 touchdowns and a passing efficiency rating of 125.44. He’s 14-13 as a starter."

"Mangum 'humbled' to be BYU's quarterback, becomes most prolific freshman QB in school history ... Mangum has set new freshman marks for completions (226), passing yards (2,778), passing touchdowns (17), wins (7), single-game completions (35) and single-game passing (365 yards). He’s only 223 yards away from eclipsing the 3,000-yard passing plateau."
