I think it needs to be a requirement that you win your conference to get in. This will be the 2nd year in a row they will most likely get in and then win it all. My hope if Georgia thumps then hard enough, they have to be left out.
Bama fans are so insufferable with winning it all and not the SEC.

Any team can be undeserving and win it. Hell, Bama, Ohio St. both have won it under this format.
But, a team like Bama losing in the SEC title game and then winning out is not unheard of with a team is that good. Losing 1 game and winning the rest is likely but the Conference Champion should have more weight then it currently has.
To remove this all together, they just need to make it a 8-team playoff, so CC matter and deserving teams can still get in.
I effing hate Bama and their redneck fans..

Huge mistake by Georgia to go for a fake punt."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

One of the reasons I enjoy college football is that the entire season is a playoff or used to be. So I'm in favor of giving greater weight to conference championships even if it means that the four best teams don't make the playoffs. But that goes back to the days of Big 8 football. Lose to OU (or Nebraska) the day after Thanksgiving, don't whine about not getting your shot at a National Championship when the Bowl match ups are announced.
