    • USC’s coach is a real whiny bitch about BYU, isn’t he? Maybe that comes from years of getting pounded by the Cougs when he coached in the WCC.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

she was having a blast out there. pretty entertaining stuff.

USC fans drop the "about BYU" in your rhetorical question.

USC fans are an argument to drop sports.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

                  • Will BYU's season end RPI be outside of the top4? If they lose even one match, then it's very likely. If they don't lose it's very unlikely but could happen. My guess is the following: if BYU wins out they are a top 4 seed, if they don't they 5-8 seed regardless of the RPI.

                    • RPI with quality wins and losses as defined by RPI top 25 and 50. BYU will do fine on this metric. A little light on top 25 wins relative to Stanford but lots of top 50 wins:

Stanford's resume looks pretty impressive. Just the one little blemish.

If BYU were to drop a match before the tournament, who do you think gets the top 4 over them? Would they just go with the top 4 in the RPI (currently Stanford, Illinois, Minnesota, and Texas) or do you see compelling arguments for other teams? For example, your rankings have Nebraska quite a bit higher than RPI does.

I do think in volleyball the NCAA relies more on RPI than basketball. The NCAA seems to follow it really rigidly for who gets in. There is usually a RPI cutoff for at large bids around 45-50. In terms of seeding RPI still looms really large but these quality win and loss considerations matter too. I think your current top 6 rpi is really the pool for the top 4 seeds. I think it will some combination of four of those six, but I do think if BYU stumbles it opens the possibility of Kentucky but only if Kentucky finishes the season strong including beating Florida. I only say this because it's possible the committee doesn't want 2 Big 10 teams in the top 4. I's a stretch though, they racked up some losses against top 25 teams early in the season so the look bad on the top 25 quality wins/losses metric.

Nebraska's really good, but they just don't look good enough using the NCAA metrics. Essentially, they have a handful of close loses to really good teams. They also played too many bad rpi teams early in the season. it's hurting their RPI even though they are really good.
