Default 2018 US Open - Game and Talk.

    2018 US Open

We're another year older... and it's time to pick your players for the US Open.

This Championship we're going to mix it up a little. We're going to pick 5 players, and count the total combined prize $$$ won of your best four players (instead of strokes.) If you pick the winner it will be a big bonus... but if you pick a couple of guys in the top ten you could have an outside chance.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they said that a computer simulation was run 10,000 and Tiger had won the most of any player in the simulations. I'm not ready to go there, but I'm wondering how many of us will pick DJ this weekend.

    List of players.

I thought the winner of the Masters pick'em got to choose the US Open pick'em format? (It wasn't me, btw)

First... you're amazing, Between the Masters and the US Open.. you've worked 70 hour weeks... read thousands of pages of legal documents. Gone to court? And you remember a little bit on info like the winner gets to pick the format... I wish I was young again and could remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

If you want to pick a format for the British Open... go ahead... you take the lead on the next one.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

If you look at the list of qualifiers... there's only about 25 people who have a fighting chance to win... kind of interesting.

I didn't put Phil in my picks but I really hope he gets his US Open win.

Roberto Castro qualified as a top 60 OWGR player? I thought I saw he had been relegated to the Web.com tour.

As of this writing... Rory forgot which end of the club he should be using.

    The course is brutal.

Tiger... triple bogey start. Is it too late to switch my Tiger pick?

When there is this much wind, on a course setup to be tough, the pros struggle. I like watching them struggle. Makes me hate myself less on the golf course. Hah.

Agreed. For me, it's ideal if a major finishes with the winner somewhere between -6 and -9. But I would much prefer to watch a major where the winning score is close to par than one where it is close to --20.

Not a hot take, but yelling bababooey at a golf tournament should be an automatic expulsion.

I'm the opposite. I hate watching pros play like weekend hacks. It's dumb. I've watched and played plenty of crappy golf. The U.S. Open has gone way beyond just making a challenging course. It's become a joke IMO.

Perhaps an overreaction after Koepka made the U.S. Open look like the Barbasol Championship last year.
