  • Utah spring break camping

I am looking for suggestions on where two families can go in southern Utah during spring break (April 7th - 11th). It would need to be somewhere that can accommodate a trailer; every place that takes reservations is packed for obvious reasons.

Has anyone had luck doing Escalante, Capitol Reef, Goblin Valley, Moab, etc without reservations during that week? TIA.

I've camped Goblin Valley a few different spring breaks. I've never had trouble finding spots but it's been a few years, and I don't know about trailer accommodations. Once or twice I just set up shop on BLM land down there. It's a great time to go as long as you don't push any hoodoos over.

San Rafael Swell is fun and a little under the radar for the big crowds. I don't know if they have hookups for trailers or not, but it's BLM land so finding an unimproved spot is never a problem. It has hieroglyphics, some narrow canyon hikes, the Little Grand Canyon, and is close enough to Goblin Valley that you could spend a day there.
