Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Unreal. Tuch has to know that the only way a save happens with that wide open net is if the puck is on the ice. If he elevates it 6Ē thatís a goal all day every day.

Props to #nocaps for killing that 5 on 3 though. That was the real back breaker.

Yeah the puck was on edge and that can make it hard to elevate but you are spot on. Any time a team kills off a 3 on 5 the momentum shifts.

Itís nice to see some new hockey fans getting born here.

What that pic shows is that Tuch did get the puck off the ice. Obviously not enough to score but the reflexes to mak that stop are amazing. He is looking right at the puck as his stick catches it in the air.

Correct. Puck stays on the ice....goal. Puck is 6" higher...goal. That stuff is a mix of position mastery and just plain fucking luck. It was a fantastic stop. I rewound and watched it probably 5 times...just to watch the reaction of the players and the fans. Everyone thought that puck was going in. That is what I love about hockey.

As a non partisan observer of this this great series, I really hope Kuznetsov is able to play. It looked like a collar bone or shoulder injury which makes it unlikely that he can play. Losing your top center and number 1 playoff goal scorer hurts. Can Eller play as well as he did last night in his place for the remaining games? Its a big question.

I've never been a Washington fan and really haven't seen Ovechkin play much but the guy has the best wrist shot I have ever seen. Wonderful hockey last night.

If you are a believer in CORSI and Fenwick percentages, which I am, the Caps are lucky to be ahead in this series right now. Game one CORSI 5on5 close for VGK was 60%. Game two CORSI 5on5 close for VGK was 53.26. Game three the Caps were ahead with 5on5 close for VGK at 48.33%

The differences with Fenwick are lower than CORSI, but still favored VGK in games 1 and 2 and the Caps in game 3. Fenwick in game 3 was ugly for VGK at only 43.33.
The crux of what has traumatized us about CUF/CG is that we thought they were our friends. And their identity as BYU fans turned out to be the most important thing to them. What empty lives! What a damning indictment of the LDS Church!

I believe in CORSI as well but 53% is almost a coin flip. Game 1 and game 3 went as you would expect given the puck possession and game two was a toss up. A crazy save was the difference.

As a long suffering DC sports fan, I'd like to see the Caps go up 3-1 tonight because I believe we may need all three cracks at closing the series out.

There is nothing better in sports than watching your team win Lord Stanley's Cup. Even though your team employs that piece of shit Raffi Torres in the making Tom Wilson, I'm still in your corner on this one.

He's had two clean games in a row...so there's that.

This is why he is not yet Raffi Torres that is double Torres record for clean games in a row.

I don't get the same vibe from Wilson. Yes, he has crossed the line several times and should be held accountable, but Torres has no soul when you look into his eyes. Someday Torres and Art Briles will share the devil's white hot poker as it gets shoved up their ass repeatedly for all eternity.

I don't quite get the same vibe either, but Wilson has that potential.

I agree that Torres has no soul. He is pure evil. He probably exclusively drinks Fireball and Anheuser Busch beer.

Chanting the Goalie's name is dumb. Everyone does it and it is annoying. I mean, come on, these guys aren't Johnny Cueto.
