It cracks me up. BuzzFeed, not the NYT or WaPo, scoops a story that could lead to the impeachment of the POTUS. BuzzFeed literally is a company who creates viral content and fake news.

They’ve done some good journalism before but that reporter in particular has a suspect ethical track record.

CNN AND MSNBC REPEATEDLY FLOATED IMPEACHMENT OVER DISPUTED BUZZFEED REPORT

CNN and MSNBC collectively used the word “impeach” nearly 200 times on Friday before the Special Counsel’s office disputed a bombshell report by BuzzFeed News.

According to a Daily Caller review of TV clipping service Grabien, personalities on CNN and MSNBC used the words “Impeach,” “Impeachment,” or “Impeachable,” 179 times.

The review included only original Friday programming and ran up until each network learned that BuzzFeed’s report was in dispute — shortly before 8 pm.

CNN mentioned impeachment 82 times while MSNBC mentioned it a whopping 97 times.

CNN and MSNBC are losing so much credibility since Trump became POTUS.

And let’s be honest they deserve to lose credibility — a lot of us hate Trump — he is without a doubt a disgusting and horrible person.

But CNN and MSNBC are ignoring all standards of journalism to promote all things negative toward Trump, to the point that they have to be corrected by Mueller? They have definitely lost their minds and jumped the shark when it comes to the anti-Trump stuff.

Buzzfeed was corrected by Mueller. Do you have some examples of them CNN and MSNBC ignoring all standards of journalism? They've certainly had their share of stories that have been right about Trump.

WTH is prison planet? I haven't heard of that one. I like the name, however.

    Not that hard.

    https://money.cnn.com/2017/06/26/med...cle/index.html

Three CNN journalists, including the executive editor in charge of a new investigative unit, have resigned after the publication of a Russia-related article that was retracted.
Thomas Frank, who wrote the story in question; Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit; and Lex Haris, who oversaw the unit, have all left CNN.

"In the aftermath of the retraction of a story published on CNN.com, CNN has accepted the resignations of the employees involved in the story's publication," a spokesman said Monday evening.

An internal investigation by CNN management found that some standard editorial processes were not followed when the article was published, people briefed on the results of the investigation said.

The story, which reported that Congress was investigating a "Russian investment fund with ties to Trump officials," cited a single anonymous source.

These types of stories are typically reviewed by several departments within CNN -- including fact-checkers, journalism standards experts and lawyers -- before publication.

This breakdown in editorial workflow disturbed the CNN executives who learned about it.

CNN had to issue a major correction to a story that initially claimed Trump Jr. had advance notice of Wikileaks' Podesta email dump. The date of the email in question was off by 10 days. Getting the timeline right should not be difficult for serious journalists.

    https://www.cnn.com/2017/12/08/polit...nts/index.html

Washington (CNN)Correction: This story has been corrected to say the date of the email was September 14, 2016, not September 4, 2016. The story also changed the headline and removed a tweet from Donald Trump Jr., who posted a message about WikiLeaks on September 4, 2016.

How many of these should we list?

CNN deletes false story on Trump ally's links to Russia: 'It was a massive f*** up'

The network is now rethinking its Russia reporting strategy

CNN has retracted a story linking an ally of Donald Trump to a Russian bank, amid an FBI investigation into alleged ties between campaign aides and Moscow.

The story of Trump campaign team executive Anthony Scaramucci's ties to the Kremlin-controlled Russian Direct Investment Fund was false, prompting many to accuse the outlet of "fake news".

Links to the piece were disabled and in its place CNN issued an Editor's Note that read: “That story did not meet CNN's editorial standards and has been retracted. Links to the story have been disabled. CNN apologises to Mr Scaramucci.”

CNN said that it had confirmation that Comey would testify that Trump wasn't told multiple times that he wasn't under investigation. CNN was wrong. Oh well, just issue another correction. No biggie.

    https://www.cnn.com/2017/06/06/polit...investigation/

CORRECTION AND UPDATE: This article was published before Comey released his prepared opening statement. The article and headline have been corrected to reflect that Comey does not directly dispute that Trump was told multiple times he was not under investigation in his prepared testimony released after this story was published.

The media have a challenge with this president and his constant egregious behavior, and deep closet of skelatons, and shouldn't avoid negative articles because some people are tired of Trump being criticized. There have not been all-time lows in journalism by the media in reporting on Trump. I just think his supporters and surrogates are good at parroting those fake news lines at every article written about that the illusion of truth might effect start to work coupled with wanting to stop hearing about how awful Trump that people get it in their head that the media is horrible.

There have been mistakes though. Here's an interesting article about media mistakes concerning Trump, with special attention to the latest Buzzfeed piece.

Reporters at the Guardian, CNN, McClatchy News and other outlets have published disputed, suspect or uncorroborated stories about Trump and the investigation swirling around him since special counsel Robert S. Mueller III began his probe 21 months ago. Each instance has elicited cries of “fake news” from the president and his supporters, stoking the claim that the mainstream media is biased and irresponsible.

But these disputed stories have tended to be about distinct events or actions; they were effectively clues rather than conclusions about Trump’s potential criminality....

The fact that the normally buttoned-up special counsel’s office felt compelled to issue a statement suggests that the story’s conclusions were too baldly stated and too consequential to stay unchallenged. In effect, Mueller’s office seemed to be saying that BuzzFeed went too far and got some things wrong, though it did not say how or what.

In fact, what it didn’t say was important, too. It didn’t say Mueller had no evidence that Trump had sought to influence Cohen — just that BuzzFeed’s description of such statements was inaccurate. Nor did it spell out which reported statements were inaccurate and in what way. Further, it offered no details about how BuzzFeed had mischaracterized any evidence that Mueller has collected....

CNN has published at least two disputed stories on the Russia probe.

The first, in June 2017, reported that Congress was investigating a Russian investment fund with ties to Trump transition officials. CNN retracted the article, which was based on a single anonymous source, but never said it was inaccurate; it also forced three journalists responsible for its publication to resign.

A second CNN article in July reported that Cohen intended to tell Mueller that Trump had approved a fateful meeting at Trump Tower in June 2016 between Russian operatives and his top campaign officials, Manafort, Donald Trump Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Although one of the story’s key sources — Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis — recanted his support for the claim after publication, CNN has also stood by this story, which was co-written by Carl Bernstein, one of The Post’s legendary Watergate reporters....

Yep, that’s the point. Plus CNN then spends the day talking about impeachment, which was sparked by the article. Pretty funny and poor journalism. Makes me wonder if the nytimes or WSJ reported that buzzfeed had an uncorroborated story.

It would be interesting to hear what certain news outlets and people were to say if Trump were a Democrat. Instead of holding out for a wall, maybe he's holding out for DACA. I'd like to look inside this alternate dimension just for a few minutes for entertainment value.

Yep. But it isn’t necessarily irresponsible or unethical. You can’t say the same for someone parroting what Alex Jones says.

I’m sure CNN would have spent all day on an “uncorroborated” story about Obama doing something illegal, right?

It will be a great day if/when Trump is impeached but CNN has lost their minds and waived all journalistic values when it comes to Trump.
