I haven't been able to make a WCC road game, so this was my first experience with BYU in a "high school" gym.

- Lack of production at the five will be the death knell against better teams. It almost cost them last night. They desperately need rebounding help: maybe a three-headed monster in the form of Worthington, Shaw and Andrus going forward (assuming both Shaw and Andrus can get healthy) will do the trick? I’d like to say I’m still buying Dastrup, but … I’m just not sure what is going on with him.
- Dalton Nixon is the MVP of this team, but he will not be able to do what they are asking him to do for an entire season.
- Until the five position gets sorted out, Childs is going to be double, if not triple teamed all season, and we will see many more disappointing games from him like we saw last night.
- I reiterate what I said last season: Bryant is the best player on this team.
- Haws can’t guard a garden gnome and would likely foul out trying. That being said, he is making strides, especially effort wise. He has matured this season and seems to understand better where to pick his spots. After sitting for 7 or 8 minutes—which is notable for the fact, during the most important stretch of the second half, not a single Lone Peak 3 super star was on the floor—when he came in the game he was clutch. BYU doesn’t win without his offensive aggressiveness, cold and coming off the bench. That was impressive.
- Jashire got schooled at times by bigger, less talented players with better basketball IQ’s, and that’s frustrating, but not as frustrating as his seeming lack of confidence by not taking shots when he was open. There were bright spots in his game; moments where he attacked the rim and played good defense. I guess the inconsistency is to be expected.
- Brown is what he is at this point, and it may be just as well to throw Bergersen out there for the same spot duty.

Any predictions on UT Arlington?
This isn't the same team that torched BYU last March, but still.
This year's UT Mavericks barely defeated LMU at home.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.
