My 5 year old woke up crying in the middle of the night saying that his toe hurt. I assumed it was from the pebbletec and needing to toughen up the bottom of his feet. He let me look at it when he got home from school. Nope, ingrown nail. So, yay, it looks like Bluegoose is correct for now. But, boo, I don’t look forward to digging at that later.

As soon as I figure that out, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Backyard looks awesome, DS. What is going to happen to those 4" spacer lines in the concrete?

Mexican beach pebble. Just felt we needed something simple to break up all the cement.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I think we had more kids in my backyard after school today than we’ve had in the two years we’ve been here combined. And when I left to take my son to diving one of the kids had slipped on the spa, cutting her leg and my wife asked where the super glue was, so...we’re off to an awesome start!

    • Looks terrific! Wish we had done a small water feature along the side of ours.

It will be around the corner. But not in yet. We’ll wait a month or so for when it cools down a bit.

              • We were told by a realtor friend that in our market, regardless of how awesome the pool is, it adds $5,000 to the value of the home.

We have yet to put in a pool.

Yeah, but to be fair, those above-ground pools really cost more than $5,000.

Your friend is correct when it comes to actual value. Maybe $7500-$10000 on a good day. A nice fence will get you about $2000 on an appraisal. Also finished basement you might get $40-60 a square foot. With that being said when it comes to "curb appeal" and attracting potential buyers, it makes a huge difference. You would sell your home faster if you had these things. Just don't expect to get the value you think out of them.
