Sadly, it's not that surprising. I got the feeling from the interview transcript that there were probably a lot more than he admitted. How many more will there be?

A few questions that I didn't see addressed in that article:

- What level of abuse is this new woman claiming?
- Is this new claimant the woman who the first woman knew about from their time together in the MTC?
- Can we assign some naming system to each of these anonymous women so that it's easier to distinguish between them in our posts?

Gregorio, acting as his dad's lawyer, may have a lot of research to do on why this new woman shouldn't be believed.

I need to stop thinking about this, because another reason I loathe this despicable human being is because I hate feeling the way I do when I personalize this. If I had dropped off a daughter at the MTC, and learned later this predatory SOB in the highest position of trust had attempted to molest her, my reaction would have fallen far short of Christ-like, and I hate that he's had that effect on me and so many others. I'd be fine with imposing the severest of legal and ecclesiastical penalties for the remainder of this life, and let him try to work things out in the next one.

For a second I was thinking of adding a swish, but it didn't feel like the kind of thing one should swish.

I am hearing rumors that the former MTC employees have confirmed that Bishop had a private room with a bed, a TV, and a VCR. They thought it was odd at the time.

To ask to be sustained as a prophet, seer and revelatory and then be deceived by one you’ve placed in a prominent position is much different than a bishop not discerning if I’m lying about drinking Fireball and Coors Light with Funkhouser or not. I see a major distinction in those.

I know what you are saying, but I see it a little different. In my view, too many people believe that others, by virtue of position or title, are allowed greater access or influence to the promptings of spirit. In doing so, they diminish their own relationship with God. Everyone is given the same ability to receive inspiration and revelation to help guide them and those they have stewardship over. One of the easiest ways that Satan influences us is to make us believe that were are less worthy to receive inspiration and love from God than someone else.

I guarantee that you have made decisions for your family that are equally as important as decisions that the Q12 have made that affect your family. The general authorities are no different in that they make mistakes, sometime big mistakes, just as you and I have in leading our lives and our families. Maybe they have been called to those positions because they can "see" the bigger picture easier than the rest of us. And that ability helps them make it through the devastation that some of them may feel about decisions that end up as poorly as this one.

This is why I have cut out the middle-man and take my sins up directly with God... besides it saves time for everyone by not having to go to the bishop to confess your sins. Save the bishop's valuable time for folks that can't think for themselves.

Can any of the lawyer types here estimate how much tithing the Church might end up spending to deal with this?

I wish there were transparency so that we new expenditures related to other cases, which have been settled and hushed.

I understand your concern, but you should still pay it. The churches and temples you go to aren't free. Plus bonus: you'll continue to be a part of the stone rolling forth to fill the whole Earth!
