  • A Former Manager At The Russian "Troll Factory" Is Now Living In The US, Report Says

A former manager of the Internet Research Agency, the Russian “troll factory” and propaganda operation accused of meddling in the 2016 election, has lived in the United States for the past two and a half months, according to a Russian news outlet.

Agata Burdonova, 31, was an English-language specialist who worked as a manager at the IRA, according to TV Rain, an independent Russian news agency that has broken a number of stories about the Internet Research Agency. She moved to Bellevue, Washington, on Dec. 7, and has thoroughly documented her move on her social media accounts. She has posted pictures of her boarding pass and Russian passport, a selfie with her husband at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and photos of Seattle’s Space Needle, a suburban American neighborhood, and several Washington parks.

TV Rain said she denied that she had worked for the Internet Research Agency and refused to comment on her move to the United States. She did not immediately respond to questions sent by BuzzFeed News to her accounts on Facebook and on a similar Russian social media platform, VK.

Burdonova is not among the 13 Russians that the Department of Justice’s special counsel has accused of violating a series of US laws in connection to the 2016 election. According to IRA documents obtained by the special counsel, one of the IRA’s stated objectives was to conduct “information warfare against the United States of America.”

Her former coworkers told TV Rain that Burdonova worked under Katarina Aistova, who was interviewed by the New York Times about the IRA in 2015 before she became the head of its media department. Burdonova posted a picture of herself with Aistova on Facebook and on VK and said she’d had a farewell party as she prepared to fly to the other side of the world.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

even academics buy into the fallacy that the FBI didn't care about the Russia thing until the dossier? That's been proven to be false. They've been following Carter Page since 2013 because of his ties to known Russian spies, one of which was convicted in the US and spent some time in prison.

            • Putin speech adds to freeze in U.S.-Russia relations

“The tension level is high, higher now than it was several months ago, in part because the Russians have gotten past the phase where they thought with President Trump they would be able to move the relationship in a different direction,” said Thomas Graham, senior director for Russia on the George W. Bush National Security Council staff and now managing director at Kissinger Associates Inc.

“This is qualitatively worse than any post-Cold War period,” Graham said.

Trump appears to be the only senior member of his administration who still believes in a thaw. . . . .

But as he has failed to move relations forward, “the Russians basically see the Trump administration as a lost cause,” said Andrew Weiss, who held senior Russia policy positions during both the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations and is now vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
              lol at stupid Russians.

U.S. defense officials have consistently cited Russia as the most significant strategic threat to the United States, and the primary reason to build up its defense budget.

Gen. John Hyten, who leads U.S. Strategic Command, said in a speech Wednesday that Russia poses “the only existential threat to the country.”

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

So what is being awake and not paying attention to the switch on Russia called? By the way, what was Trump's response to the cute graphic Putin put out there yesterday showing missiles flying to Florida? He couldn't even come up with his own video game looking thing, or not even a funny joke or anything? Oh yeah, he announced trade wars. Nice.

Whatever, I'm sure what a past president said or did 8 years ago is more relevant.

Ted, you should try to make a run at Sarah Huckleberry Sanders' job. You're much better at it.

Oh you mean Putin announcing that he has missiles that can't be tracked? We had that technology for some time (not to mention those tomahawk cruise missiles that come in low). The Ruskies are just catching up. Time to throw another trillion on the defense budget "fire".

                    • Anyone catch the Megyn Kelly's interview with Putin?

I didn't see much - but the bit I caught I thought was interesting. She asked him something about his announcement yesterday kicking off a new cold war style arms race.

Putin's answer was: "If you were to speak about arms race, then an arms race began at exactly the time and moment when the U.S. opted out of the anti-ballistic missile treaty."

So - we've apparently been in an arms race with Russia since Dec 2001?

From Russia's point of view this kind of makes sense. I always thought George W pushed it way too hard to put missiles in E. Europe. From the fall of the Soviet Union until that point I think the relationship was workable. At the time there really wasn't that compelling of a reason to put ABMs there. Bush kept saying it was for terrorism, but it's not like Bin Laden had missiles in his back yard to fling at Poland.

                              • Former Trump Adviser Sam Nunberg Said Putin Is "Taking Advantage" Of The President
Nunberg, who was grilled by Robert Mueller's investigators on Friday, said the probe into the Trump campaign is not a witch hunt: "There’s a lot there there, and that’s a sad truth."

Donald Trump's former aide Sam Nunberg believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "taking advantage" of the US president and that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is not without cause.

Nunberg made the comments in an interview recorded hours after testifying on Friday before the grand jury in Mueller's probe into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Speaking to Good Morning America, Nunberg, who was fired from Trump's campaign in August 2015 over racist Facebook messages, said Putin "wanted Donald Trump to win."

"I think Vladimir Putin, if you look at it objectively, is really taking advantage of the president," he said.
